Oak Grove Middle School

I dont recomend this school ive had many bad experiences with mostly staff like by one of the officers i git racially profiled and if you have stress related probloms they will take you in but they wont talk you through the problom they just give u a stress ball and some work to do. Many of the teachers dont understand the students and embaris us like making us bring tolit seats out to use the restroom and especialy dont go if you have sencitive hearing cause lots of teachers use microphones and some blow their wissles as hard as they can to get attention i really dont suggest this school but you might have a diffrent opinion many teachers also bully, suspend,and get in students personal bubbles like ms scott if you talk back she will scream in your face but she wont go aganst *school rules* which are STUPID they say there food is healty its not and middle schoolers are growing children theres never enough food on peoples plates and that leads to stealing so avoid this school at all cost

I do not recommend this school.To be Fair Mr. Brown is the new principle and my only interaction with him was when I was extremely upset. He remained calm and I felt like he actually had genuine interest and compassion for the situation. Unfortunately he has some staff under him that leaves alot to be desired. Mr. Wolford is a condescending jerk. He thinks he knows it all and will not listen to anything said to him. You can hear him rolling his eyes even through the phone. The guidance counselor has no business being in the position, she doesn't have the slightest interest in how a child feels or the time to see them. My daughter was told.. what do you want now? When she went to see her. And yes kids are annoying and full of drama Most of the time but guess what?? Thats your job. You signed up for that. Most of the teachers don't care about the students. Some of them are bullies themselves. One Mrs T. thinks its cute and acceptable to call some of the students trolls. I have personally witnessed the school officer screaming at the top of her lungs at children in the hallways. If your child struggles with classwork you will not be notified by the teachers. In fact, if you don't reach out to them you will never hear from them. The vibe at the school is something close to a prison yard. Some of the staff seem to care, and again this is my own experience someone else may think that the above is bogus and love this school... But from the looks of the reviews I'm not alone on this.

This school is not gOOd you get yelled at for nothing and mister jackson hits kid i seen how he pulls there hair and the ears to i do not like him

They kicked me out still I use to like that school now I don't I go to calvin school for bad boys I'm one of those bad boys I get iss a lot I curse I smoke I get taking home in a police car sometimes

The teachers are amazing and dedicated. An overall good school for a middle school (and good middle schools are hard to find).
