I went to oak room Charlotte for the first time for the Chris Brown concert after party! I had the time of my life! The service was incredible! The bartending staff was very sweet! I had a very delicious raspberry margarita! The DJ was on a roll kept the crowd dancing all night! Located in uptown Charlotte with a very diverse crowd!
I went out with my friends this Friday and we had a good time the music was great! the atmosphere was great! I wish they had just a little more variety as the music was 80% reggaeton but it was not experience overall. the only real issue I had was with one of the bartenders the one on the left closest to the dance floor. She made our drinks wrong we ordered 2 long islands which consist of 4 spirits, sweet and sour, and coke. however she only mixed 1 spirit, sweet and sour, and coke! Long island is one of the classic drink recipes and she managed to mess it up thats the only reason I'm giving it 4 stars and not 5
Very large "security guard" at the door this past Sunday who refused entry to an event due to having a camera...meanwhile, a man was standing nearby already inside the event with a camera. "Security guard" asked "who do you work for?" in a loud tone of voice in front of a line of people and told me I would need to walk several blocks to my car to put the camera away, when he could have just held the camera at the front desk until we ate and left. When informed that I wasn't there to take photos of the run down establishment, large security guard stated I would not be allowed entry. Large security guard was argumentative, ghetto, and unbecoming of a professional environment....all over a camera? Very miserable man. Large security guard then began screaming he would not provide a refund for what a friend and I paid to get in....what a miserable, miserable person. All of this over a camera. Perhaps if he had better customer service skills, he could work a better job at a higher rate of pay and buy his own camera! Would not recommend this establishment for eating, drinking or anything else, and certainly would not recommend the organization who hosted the party, AMG Entertainment Group.

This establishment is beyond racist. I literally just got into an argument with a caucasian bottle host that felt that she could bump us and respond with don’t touch her which led to a confrontation. I was rushed by a security guard, completely unaware of the situation and is only going off based what he felt in the moment. I will find out who this owner is.
Visited a year or so ago for trap house music night.. The management of the line was very disorganized with random people jumping the line and the bouncers charging cover for people who had been waiting a long time during the free entry period n then the cover doubled from $10 to $20. My friends and I were on the list for free admission, but I think we ended up having to pay something. After that mess was sorted out.. Once inside my friends and I had a good time. One of my friends was celebrating their birthday and we shared a complimentary bottle. Music was decent. Crowd was cool. I second what other reviewers said tho about the bouncers and people who should be cut off by the bar- there was somebody who spilled their entire drink on the dance floor and nobody cleaned it up. Go with a group or go somewhere else. Random on decor.. Stuffed bear when you walk in.. Kinda trippy/cabin feel.
With a rotating DJ set located in Southend, the oak room is positioned to be one of the top clubs in Charlotte. However, for a 20$ cover, they consistently let us down with the service and experience expected for such a venue. With their focus on table service instead of the general patron, it creates an environment that doesn't foster the club experience expected of other greater clubs outside of Charlotte. 2022 Edit: Apparently the talk is that bouncers have been extorting people for cash because of "dresscodes" and being aggressive. Hasn't happened to me but when half of my friends have had some kind of issue in the last 3 months well it's not a good look. Expand the floor, invest more in your sound/DJs/service, and they'll improve. But for Charlotte, it works I guess, there are just better options down the street.
Great Spot!! Loved the margaritas!! Great atmosphere with games and music. Definitely will be back!! More upscale and mixed crowd which was great as well!
Hello, I attended your establishment tonight in hopes of celebrating my birthday. I purchased a table and alcohol with the perception that this was a reputable place of business that put the safety of its patrons first. I have never been more disappointed and disrespected. A member of my party was wounded and had to seek medical attention! He was not provided the necessary amount of urgency required. What is worse is the issue that escalated had nothing to do with my guest however my guest were casualties. The "security" that you all employed were highly insensitive to the situation at hand. Another patron that was not a part of my group was allowed to aggressively place his hands on me as we were leaving and nothing was done to address the manic situation at hand. I would like to have a member of management and ownership reach out to me personally to provide me with a resolution. If I do not hear from anyone I will be taking the necessary legal action. As an establishment you are liable for the safety of your patrons.
After reading all the comments I can tell I am not the only one with this issue. Got tickets to an event last Friday and everything was great the crowd was kind of dull but my friends and I had a fun time regardless the DJ was great. The drinks were a little pricey compared to other clubs in the area. However the reason I or anyone I know will never return to this club is the staff. The two bouncers at the door are starving to show their authority the fact that you have to kick beautiful women out of your club because you are bored is sad. I was on my way out the door when my friend remembered she had to get her keys. I sat on the floor to fix my shoe and next thing I know two guys grab me off the ground and tell me I have to get out. Yes I was slightly tipsy but I was completely aware of my actions and everything around me so there was no reason for me to be kicked out. After I told them I would leave as soon as my friend got her keys because we rode together they start dragging me out the door very forcefully. My dad is a police officer so I understand the whole compliance thing but they were hurting me. I told them to get their hands off of me and the homeless looking white guy with the matted red beard gets and inch from my face and starts screaming at me to the best of his ability telling me I was "big" because his fat ass was too weak to pull me out of the door. After I reminded him that his dick was 2 inches he shut up and got the police officer to tell me to get out but by that time we were walking out the door anyways. I am not happy that your staff left bruises all over me from grabbing me so hard for absolutely no reason and now I have to wear long sleeves to work because it looks like I was abused or something which I kind of was by your staff. All I have to say is be careful who you decide to pull this bs on because you could have a lawsuit on your hands. We are just trying to have a good time so I'm sorry that your lives are so terrible that this is what you do for fun but I suggest to management to hire people who aren't so insecure that they have to manhandle women.
