Do NOT go! Security frequently assaults patrons. Last year, while attending with a large group of friends, a bouncer assaulted me unprovoked while I was waiting to use the bathroom which were porta potty’s outside the establishment. While I was waiting, a bouncer came up from behind me, put me in a chokehold and threw me into the ground. Then, more bouncers joined and threw me head first into a brick wall before tossing me in the street. Their explanation was that they thought I was doing illicit drugs in the porta potty. Rather than questioning me and/or verifying their claim, and/or calling actual law enforcement, the one bouncer in particular decided assault and battery was the way to go. I immediately called police, where the situation became a my word against theirs. I had two cuts on my face and a string of cuts across the top of my head, which I only found in morning when I woke to blood all over my pillow. The bouncers were steadfast in defending one of their own while tension grew on the outside. I remain steadfast on the Oasis management and security staff being complicit in the attack on me. The amount of humiliation I received that night was unquantifiable and I urge all to go other venues when in or visiting Portland. Per legality, this review is based on my perspective and opinion alone.
This place is very scary and I honestly have no idea how they are legally open. The bouncer upstairs made me feel incredibly uncomfortable by getting closer and closer to us and watching us the entire time. Then my boyfriend went out to smoke a cigarette and the light skin bouncer wouldn’t let him back in. It was 14 degrees out and his jacket was inside. They wouldn’t let him get his jacket or allow him to let any of our friends know he couldn’t get back in. The bouncer proceeded to shove him and pushed him so hard on the sidewalk he has bruises on his back. To top it all of, we all lost our jackets. We tried to call the number but the number wasn’t real. So we called the cops. The cop on duty last night laughed at my boyfriend and did nothing. This morning we called to report it again, and the receptionist was pretty rude and told us to come to oasis at 5pm. I highly doubt we are getting any of our items back. The police doing nothing was the scariest thing of it all. This place should not legally be open nor the police department.
This place sucks, my friend and I went out last night and were literally assaulted by people when we tried to use the bathrooms. When they notified staff the bouncers dragged us both out like they were taking hostages somewhere. They all have the biggest egos I’ve ever seen, and are all so proud to man handle someone half there size because they can get away with it. If you want to avoid being assaulted by oasis bouncers I’d highly highly recommend staying far away.
there was a misunderstanding and i got yelled at by one of the bouncers i’ve never been yelled at like that ever which was completely unacceptable, and i will probably think about they way i heard his voice until i pass, there was many different ways things could of been said, i think the training is unacceptable and some people should not have the power to be so mean, i understand certain situations, but this was not one of those. i and my friends will no longer be spending our money in such a hostile place, i won’t be upset now if you shut down.
Worst bar/club in Portland.. man probably in the whole state. The bouncers especially the tall lightskin one have the biggest ego out of anyone I’ve ever seen. The bartenders are nice I will admit. But that one bouncer needs a reality check. Mistakes people for others and kicks them out with no explanation. Verbally assaults the customers while in the act. He’s just a nasty/disgusting human being and something needs to be done.
NO WAY TO CONTACT OWNERSHIP AT ALL Assaulted by bouncer for Dancing at a " dance club" IT'S SAD WHEN THE ESTABLISHMENTS EMPLOYEES ARE THE THREAT YOU FACE GOING OUT TO DANCE. 4 beers from 830pm to 1130pm when I was questioned if I was OK for doing a drunken stumble dance. I explained that I was only dancing it was an act and the inquiring bouncer grabs my drink and says your out of here. As I'm willingly walking out, the door man shooves me from behind to the point I almost fell and landed on the cobble stone. I dance respectfully I behave respectfully I was assaulted for dancing at a dance club !!! Pretty sad Oasis I will track the owners information down and will file a complaint. KARMA
My son and his friends go to oasis quite often and typically have a good time. My son had one drink and went outside for a cigarette 40 minutes before closing. When he tried to go back inside the bouncer would not allow him to do so. It was 20 degrees outside and they wouldn’t let him have his coat. My son stood by the bottom step to wait for his friends and get his coat. The bouncer stepped forward and put his hand on my son. My son then threatened to call the police for assault. The bouncer then removed his hand. This is disgusting business practices and uneducated help. Obviously assault is too knotch over there. As a maine guide I will be posting my review publicly. Control your hired help!
Was really enjoying our time, had two drinks and played games. It was so much fun. Went outside to smoke a cigarette and came back to being kicked out for smoking “inside of the bar”.Very disappointing. we were polite and was felt very disrespected with the way we were treated.Service: 1/5
bouncer was absolutely horrible, confiscated my ID claiming it was fake it was not he laughed in my face. will not even attempt at returning.Food: 1/5
Horrible service and treatment by the bouncer. Kicked us out without allowing us to gather our belongings or tell the rest of our party that we were there with and then took the water out of my hand and threw it away without allowing me to finish it. Bouncer sucked and seemed to be on a power trip the whole nightFood: 1/5
