Ocean Beach Park

Its a nice beach, but unfortunately just like any other beach I have been to, it has one downfall. Some of its patrons are slobs. There are plenty of trash can hanging around for there to be trash laying around. There is absolutely no excuse for it what so ever. If you want to use the excuse of "the trash was full" here is an IDEA. Carry out what you carry in. Back to the good parts. Off in the distance you can see a lighthouse to the left where the Thames River meets the ocean and to the right you see open waters. Its nice white sand meets a new boardwalk where there is a pool area, kids rides and bathrooms. Behind it is a little marsh. It is still a very nice beach. There are vollyball nets set up where you can play. Its a nice outing for the family.

Our summer favorite place! Traveled with 2 year old she enjoys the mechanical rides and kids splash area- doesn't like to leave. Beach is clean and the pool for a couple of bucks is a plus!

Great place for the whole family to enjoy a day at the beach. You will find plenty to do here, whether you just want to lie on the beach, go on the rides, or have a picnic. There are lifeguards on duty during peak times, food shacks if you get hungry, bathrooms and changing rooms, plenty of parking, and relatively easy to get in and out of the lot. It's a good time.

I spent my childhood & teen years at this beach. There's still a few rides, a water slide, mini golf, and a playground for young kids. The Olympic size pool is an option if you don't want to go in the ocean. Large beach, several concession stands. Parking charge during the summer season (memorial day thru labor day). There is a walk-in entrance but parking is scarce. On bus route. This place is sentimental to me but it's not the same as it once was. My hope is it will gain momentum & continue to offer more night activities (oh there's a bar too!)

Great for the family. You get the best of both worlds, get wet in the ocean or take the kids to the sprinkler water park. Food, music. Reasonably priced. Nice and clean.
