Westbrook Town Beach

Water is wonderful to look at from a distance...so much better around 6 pm because more actively wave-like. Not too crowded because its before weekend. If u are from out of westbrook it's $20 parking. No privacy really..at around 7 a lot of people go and it's quieter YET its a public place so personally I would go unless you're with someone. I've been there with a associate and it's the best at night e with full moon. But, of course. There is a concession stand and that's open until 7 pm. Pretty good price for side dishes. Pulled pork for those who love it. 9"in hotdog for$3.50.

Small,private in season (have to pay or be a resident). But off season, not a bad spot to park & look at Long Island Sound. It's the only quarter mile walk on shore, feet in sand in the area, Another 5 or 10 miles south to the best beach in Ct. In Madison, the state park. If you are 65 or + you get in free. Otherwise you pay.

This town beach has been one of my favorite spots,off season,since I was a teenager. From Memorial day, until after the Labor Day Weekend,You need a pass to enter the parking lot.It does have restrooms available during the summer.I don't know much about refreshments and such spending most of my time there off season.Its still a wonderful place to visit,for a walk on the beach,or a improv picnic sitting on a bench.My most favorite thing to do is get a big cup of coffee,a new book and sitting in my car feeling the sun warm me through the windows after a quick picture taking burst or short walk.Perfect place to just "be". 😊

First, this beach is on Long Island Sound. This means that the water, even on best days, will be cloudy. This isn't necessarily due to pollution, but more the fact that Long Island Sound is an estuary. This beach has a few good points. First, it is only for the residents of Westbrook. So, you won't have a lot of traffic and crowds here. Second, the town allows you to park your car at the main parking lot, and then you may choose to sit anywhere along the Westbrook Beach Shoreline that you wish. So you'll have plenty of space. Also, there is a snack food store near the main parking lot for refreshments.

I have been coming to this beach for as long as I have been alive. My family owns a house on the water which we share. This beach is my happy place. I recommend coming down to watch the fireworks on the 4th of July.
