Old Faithful Inn Dining Room

We ate the breakfast buffet, and it was definitely sub par. The hotel lobby is super cool, and the experience is fun, but compared to when we ate here 10 years ago, it was pretty disappointing. Communication between staff is terrible. We had to wait for a table (even though less than 20% full), our server couldn't be found. They stopped putting food out at 10:00, even though the buffet says 10:30. I complained, and the third person finally got headway on getting more food out. The bacon was great though.....

Ate around 1:30pm. Buffet was empty of most items and the attendant didn’t seem to care at all! Food was just ok. Waitress had to be tracked down for a refill. Food and food service overall in the park is sub-standard at best.

Probably the most expensive meal for miles. The all-you-can-eat supper is $30.50 plus tax and tip. It is cheaper to eat in the deli, even though it is also expensive.

Our wait for a table was rather short, 30 minutes. But after sitting down, we waited over 30 minutes and never saw the waiter. We got up and left, sadly the other restaurant in the inn was closed by then and the general store was closed. Always bring your own food, lesson learned.

The food was fairly good, and the waiters were extremely nice and helpful. The food was overpriced, and the portions weren't large, but that is to be expected. I got the chicken and mashed potatoes with cream sauce. The chicken was very dry and it all needed much more sauce. The sauce that was there was delicious, especially with the potatoes. My husband got penne with duck ragout, and my brother-in-law got the pork. They both said their dishes needed more sauce as well, but overall, they were good. Might be a good idea to ask for a bit extra sauce! Reservations were booked out weeks in advance, but if you get there at 4:15 (right before they open for dinner) and wait in the "make-a-reservation" line on the right, they'll get you in pretty quickly, after they let in all their 4:30 reservations. We did this, and they got us in at 4:45. You can do this at a later time as well, but the wait can be up to half an hour longer.
