Party City

This establishment does not even deserve the one star rating. At most it deserves half a star. My complaint: CUSTOMER SERVICE. I've been to this establishment now twice and both times were bad. The only reason why I decided to go a second time today was because I felt like they deserved another chance. Not anymore. I've worked in retail for many years and the one thing that was stressed above all else was treating the customer properly. Greet them as they walk into the establishment, offer assistance, and kindly wish them a good day as the customer leaves. Simple and straightforward. Customers are the ones who pay the store associates paychecks. Without customers, there would be no store, without a store, the store associates are out of a job plain and simple. This Party City had zero customer service. No greeting by either the cashier or the associate right in front of me. Was completely ignored the entire time. Then at check out, I waited in line for the cashier to finish up whatever she was doing and expected when she popped her head up to use verbal communication when beckoning me over. Instead she looked like a deer in headlights and just stared at me until I came over. She then provided no verbal communication through my transaction, no acknowledgement that I was even there until I.... the CUSTOMER asked HER how she was and then very politely wished HER a good day. I don't care how bad your life is at home. When you work in a customer service industry you have to maintain professionalism. You leave your problems at the door when you come into work. If you hate your job, either quit or again leave it at the door. Otherwise, it makes for a very uncomfortable atmosphere for both the customer AND the associate. I don't know what kind of leadership this store has, but from the look of the store itself and how the associates acted it isn't a very strong, customer oriented leadership. When you have a cashier, who is the FIRST and the LAST representation of the store the customer sees, behave in just a rude and unprofessional manner....it's time to reevaluate your management tactics.

They have great prices on all party items, and a large selection of color themes.

I am an educator with the school system in Augusta, Ga. On Jan. 8, 2018, before having to order on line, I called this particular store to ask if they had some items in stock that I was looking for. They stated that they did have the items . Instead of ordering on line I went into the store and they did not have the items there. While at the store my 9 year old son picked out candy to purchase. I was with him and also with him as he paid. On the way out of the store we were stopped by a worker and she was questioning my child, not me as the parent, where was the candy he had gotten ,in other words she was accusing him of stealing candy in which I know was not true and not the character of my child to do. I took off his coat and asked her to search him if she did not believe us. It was very hurtful to him and myself being questioned like that.
