Perkins Restaurant & Bakery

Perkins foods are almost always good, but sometimes service is off or wait staff/kitchen staff isn't fully aware of the food item they're serving. Their chicken pot pies are scrumptious, and breakfasts always good. Side salads are only so so. Of course, then there's the pies. I LUV their fresh strawberry pie and and anything else with fresh strawberries. I don't like heavy consistency of some pies, but my favorites are custard, lemon meringue and others. Their cookies and muffins are delicious, but WATCH OUT fir the calories in the oversize muffins. Buy three, get 3 free applies to cookies and muffins and rolls which is a good deal! I recommend Perkins for a home-cooked meal feeling.

The waitress Kisha was the only positive part of my experience here. Sue was running laps around everyone else, who mostly stood around and watched her work. She was personable and worked very quickly, handling nearly every table. The hostess brought glasses of water that left a considerable mess on the table once they were placed. We aren't sure if that was coffee or chocolate milk. The food was not prepared to our request and the fruit was not ripe. We would have left once we saw the food, had we not been ravenously hungry. Will not be back.

First time here, sold by manager who seated me on the skillet dinners. Once I decided I on which one I asked the waiter for the Chicken, bacon and broccoli. "We are out of chicken" he replies. Then why the hell would the manager push them on me. Totally unprofessional. Ended up just getting a bowl of tomato basil soup and a loaded baked potato. Soup was thick but lacked the flavor of any basil and the baked potato was just that baked and loaded. Just going to take my time and order a 1/2 priced slice of pie after 9pm. The place was spotless and restrooms were really clean waiter was attentive and place was quite.

Great food, great service, great meal. Highly recommend the chicken fried steak. Comes with pancakes and eggs and hash browns. A meal fit for a king. A very hungry king.

Went to Ankeny Perkins today, the waitress, Keisha was fantastic. The food was terrible. I have eaten here once before and the food was horrible, just thought I would give it one more chance. Will never go back. I gave two stars because the waitress was great. We also had to wait 15 plus minutes to be seated and there were only about nine people restaurant.
