We had just taken a stroll about Grand Central Station and needed to sit down for a while to rest our dogs. There it was, right in front of us, like a light in the darkness, beckoning. We ate dinner at Pershing Square American Restaurant. It was a lot bigger inside than the front entrance betrayed... about four times bigger, by my conservative estimate. I wasn’t really very hungry, so I just ordered the hamburger, which came with a choice of cheese, salad, or crispy French fries. I got the fries. The food was good, but as I said, I was not too hungry, so that was just part of the package. The waitress was very snobby. Generation gap personified. All "Millennial" waiters and waitresses had that attitude... especially when you didn't order alcoholic drinks. Anyway she brought our grub in due time, and we left her a reasonable tip... assuming she had to support herself somehow in this city. I did enjoy watching the baseball game on their TV, however. Not a Yankees game, mind you... just a baseball game.

Convenient location. Good menu. We went for breakfast. The line was not long. The wait was. 4 differ people asked us how many in our party. They don’t take your name. You just have to stand in line and wait. We were seated. The food was pretty good. The prices ok for the area. We had to shout across a small table to be heard. The place is too damn noisy. I am being generous by giving it 3 stars.

First: The interior is beautiful. What drew me in was the "Breakfast Central" neon sign. I walked in at 10:50 and asked if they thought I could make my 11:20 train. I paid $18 for three thin pancakes with butter and syrup, I couldn't bring myself to spend $8 extra on any sides. The food came incredibly fast as did the check, and sure enough, I was walking out of there at 11:12. I'm on my train now. Great place to eat if you're visiting or need to be somewhere fast.

We asked our concierge for a good deli and holy smokes did he deliver. This place was perfect! I don't remember what my sandwich w as called, but it had 5 different kinds of meat on it and was billed as "where the meats meet." Sooooooo gooooooood!
