Pet Kare II

I love the staff, I've been an active customer since the Pet Kare I location in Bear (which unfortunately got shut down). As an exotic enthusiast and Animal Science major I seldom stop by after work to see the reptiles within stock. However when purchasing a reptile from this particular location I was not pleased. The man who assisted me on a Savannah Monitor showed a true lack of knowledge on the reptile's basic biology. I already knew how to sex monitor lizards, and when i asked what sex my reptile was before my thoughts on purchasing he had to google the proper way to do it, aggressive handling the Savannah Monitor as well. The staff member had also claimed to me that this monitor was 2 years old. I already have a 6 month old health Savannah monitor that looked entirely healthier than their Savannah in stock. If that monitor was 2 years old, it must have many issues regarding its health. Either that, or the associate was lying in regards to the monitors true age. That was my only negative experience within the store. If you wish to sell these reptiles, seriously have true knowledge of their biology and also make sure those who wish to purchase do so as well. The staff is very friendly, I enjoy being there, the puppies I feel could be in better living conditions (always see fecal matter). But above all else its a very good location. Would choose them over Petco/Petsmart any day.

I buy my dog food there. They have a good selection of brands. Prices are a little higher but it is better then driving to different stores to find what you need

Used to work here. All puppy mill pups. They change the date to cats and dogs for birthdate. Older to younger, younger to older. I tried to get proof on cell phone but got fired first. Immature managers, owner was nice. They complain about allowing customers to see animals. It's sad. I've seen pups come in really sick and be adopted to come back and die. Let alone the dead kittens.

UPDATE: The betta fish I bought has fin rot, and I know it's not my water. I'm 99% sure he had it when I bought him. 1 star :( The store has a lot of good products and options, and the workers are friendly. However, I took two stars off because they still have their betta fish in tiny cups. They should know better.

I've been shopping at this pet store for over 10 years, and I've always been super impressed by the quality and care of the animals. It's basically the only store in the area that sells live animals, and they have a huge selection. All of the animals are far healthier and well socialized than the ones in the franchise stores (Petsmart, Petco) and the staff is more knowledgeable.
