Good food, friendly service, nice ambience. A lesson to not judge a book by its cover. My first impression was “tourist trap”, but everything from the service to the food feels like the real deal. TONS of locals here for lunch, and judging by the conversations with the staff - many of them regulars. I liked the Country Fried Steak, but the turnip greens seem like an acquired taste and the cornbread was a little dry for my liking. The slaw had a nice toothiness to it and good flavour. If you visit Knoxville, this is worth a visit.

Easy to get to, lots of parking options, and plenty of seating. My friend and I both ordered the tuna melt but I requested it on rye; the waitress didn't grumble at the special request during a busy time. The food came out quickly and there was a lot of it! I ended up taking half my sandwich back to work (plus a delicious and HUGE homemade brownie). Great diner food, good place for a quick lunch - I recommend it!

An excellent diner with reasonable prices and good variety. I had the grilled cheese (on Texas Toast) and a cup of veggie soup which was homemade and hearty. You can walk over if you're downtown or Park in the Locust Street Garage which is above the restaurant. I'll definitely stop by again.

You have to try Petes...it's picture postcard perfect..exactly how you picture a breakfast diner. Biscuits, gravy, eggs how you like them, coffee refilled with a smile..it's all there. Enjoy!

Saturday brunch was starting to gear down and yet everyone was still going full steam. Staff have an excellent rapport and customer service. Busy time but we sat down immediately and had our food fast. Waffles are great!
