Super yummy! My beef stew had great flavor and texture. My husband had the combo rice plate and said it was good! Tried the bbq pork, and it was amazing. Decent prices, big portions, great service, and it's cute inside! Can't wait to try the other dishes since everything seemed fresh and authentic.
Food is good service was fine. However, its very disappointed the way they packed togo food. Got 3 orders pho , vermicelli plate and rice plate. They put the hot food in plastic container and its melted. Basically, i ate food with melted food. See the pictures. The plastic bag all pool of oil. They also charged every single togo order adiitional 50c for togo.
Absolutely the best dining experience I've had in months ! The food was phenomenal. The service was A +++. Atmosphere was great. Friendly staff too. The freshness is unmatched anywhere I've been to in Portland, in fact I'll drive to Vancouver just to get Pho here. Best dinner ever !
A great place to eat lunch or dinner. Reasonably priced. I paid 13.95. for G12. Slice barbecue pork, a skewer with 2 medium sized shrimp. 1 small egg roll, veggies and rice. It a big plate and delicious . Best part is the people there are super friendly. I felt like I was part of the family.. Look forward to going there again when I'm in the area. Please check it out if you like pho or Vietnamese cooking. The portions look large and I saw many Asians there. Always a good sign if you're looking for authenticity.
One of the last Vancouver places on my list due to their relatively low ratings on Google. As I walked in the door, I was impressed with the dining room size and number of customers. The place was hopping! I love the decor, The big relief on one wall, it's fun, ethnic, and welcoming. I order the Bun Bo Hue - Spicy Beef noodle and when it arrives, I am thrilled by the presentation. It has that rich, deep, red oil look that makes me want to drown myself in it. The tray of sprouts and basil is abundant. It has not only two kinds of basil and the chilis and lime, but it has Shizo leaves which I think is the first time I've even been served this with a broth. I loved the unexpected flavor profile it added. I was wondering why the restaurant only gets 4.3 on Google which although better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick lags behind many of its competitors. I was bang on eager to add a 5 star review. Based solely on the broth, I thought what a great place to come after a visit to Kaiser which is just a block or so away. I was so impressed that I ordered the Pad Thai to go for my wife, bless her soul. This is where problems arise like gas bubbles from a swamp. I drop it off with my wife and go about my duties and when I see her again I ask her, How was it? Although I can already tell there is something not right in the halls of Valhalla. She looks me dead in the eye and says, it's the worst Pad Thai she's ever had. For me... The standard on which all Pho places are judged is the broth. I am a fanatic. I would do laps in a good Pho, but for the sainted wife who not only puts up with me, but washes and organizes my underwear drawer, Pad Thai is her ultimate test of a restaurant's essential worth. She says it tastes nothing like Pad Thai. It contains copious bell peppers and that is all she can taste. I am shamed in front of my better half. I had given her rave reviews of the Broth, proud to have found such a treasure. Well, that certainly left me with egg on my face, or pho, as the case may be. I might sneak away once in a while to grab some Pho, but I certainly can't take the wife.
Quality has gone way down. I've ordered multiple times here in the past and it's just not improving. With the new cook, the papaya salad was overly peppered with red chili peppers and tasted super sweet, and no hint of lime whatsoever and I wasn't able to eat much more of it. The chicken fried rice was super oily the oily reflection is worst IRL and the chicken was tough and bone dry that made it hard to swallow without water. I think it's best to stick with pho because everything else on the menu is subpar.
Everything was fantastic. Came in due to the February Snowpocalypse. Wife and I shared the chicken satay appetizer, yellow curry, and Beef with Pineapple. Everything came out perfectly spiced, perfectly cooked, and well timed. Left full, and right as they were getting ready to close, the owner agreed to personally take care of a family of 5 and let any of the rest of his staff that wanted to go home. We'll definitely be coming back.
We went there about a month ago and ordered extra meatballs in our pho. When we got home, we noticed we only had one meatball sliced into 4 pieces. We called and a guy said that they would give us a discount. In our opinion, we should have gotten a free meal due to their mistake and horrible customer service. We just called today and asked about the discount. We were then told that they are not able to do that. We told them what happened and the guy said he would only do it this once. He also said it in the worst tone possible. They need to work on your customer service. We will not be coming back and we will also spread the word about how horrible they are. We have been going there for the past 3 years and loved the food. But recently, we have been treated very poorly.
Highly recommend. Beautiful restaurant decorations and yummy foods
Excellent service for a good little place for some descent food. Coming from So.Cal., I can say this place has good quality taste and good flavor. Expansive menu and good options. Good ambiance and good table service. Perhaps try to papaya salad for it's known for.
