Below is exactly what I wrote to report to my University BART and Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) Office for Civil Rights (OCR): (happened on 2/16/2018)
I’m a current junior at Ohio State University. This morning, I was studying at Physics Research Building 4th floor in women’s restroom at Ohio State (it sounds weird, but I will explain). It is super quiet because there are very few women physicians on this floor, and there is an attached platform which I use it as a desktop. When I was still studying, a white female in her 20s whom I believe to be working in the Physics Admin Office in 1040 came in and seemed very angry about my existence there. She stormed in, and after she used the restroom, and she stormed out. I did not take it into consideration. Later, she called the Physics Undergraduate Program Coordinator Robin Patterson who came up to me in a rude manner and demanded me to leave. She threatened me that if I didn’t leave immediately she would call security to move my stuff. She said that my long plug-in extension cord was a hazard, which I said I could remove. She said that I had to return the chair I moved from first floor, which I also said I could do. However, I said if she could not find the specific rule that I could not study there, I would not leave. She became even more mad and said that if I were so difficult, she would find one(find the rule for me to leave as if her main purpose was to chase me out). Then she made phone call with security of Physics Research Building, and came in with a more satisfactory and relaxing expression that my stuff was blocking the potential wheelchair users, and even after removing my stuff, my stuff on the platform would be blocking someone else as if I am not even one of the public people who can use it as well. At that time, I was very scared, and packed my stuff; however, their outrageous behaviors are quite suspicious. They could talk to me in a polite manner and explained to me that I was blocking ADA in the first place if I was really causing a problem for potential ADA users and others; they could not provide such reason in the first place, and behaved in a very rude and condescending way, which I believe to be discriminatory because of my race. Both women are white, and I’m Asian. Before we departed, one female whose name I don’t know (the first female who came in the restroom and called for Robin Patterson) took a photo of me and claimed to send it to security.
My intention was only to find a quiet space to study and not to cause difficulty for others; however, these 2 people who behaved in extremely rude manner, which I could think of no other reason other than being racist. Thank you for your time to look into this case.

PRB makes me feel at home. It's the best, and one of the shiniest, building on campus. 10/10 would recommend to family and friends.
Also:
- s/o to Physics Undergraduate Program Coordinator Robin Patterson for doing an incredible job.
- s/o to all the administrative assistants working in the offices, such as the Physics Admin Office in 1040.

The best darn building on campus! The staff and faculty are friendly and cheerful and building itself strikes awe into students. 10/10 physics majors love this place.

Many physics. Much science. The pizza and cookies are pretty good too.
