I really enjoyed this place. Our server was in the weeds & we could tell so our food took quite a while, but we didn't have anywhere to be & were patient. He was knowledgeable about the menu though. The restaurant ambiance was beautiful located inside Union Station & the food was fantastic. Quite possibly the best seafood corn bisque I've tasted. The salmon dish was also exquisite. Would definitely go here again & recommend to a friend.
My daughter and her husband had their wedding reception in the Board Room at Union Station, catered by Pierpont's. We are so very, very pleased with how it all turned out. They set it up just like we requested, it was in the very lovely Union station in Kansas City. They set up the audio equipment for us to use for speeches as well as music. The food, oh the food! We had appetizers and the Tier one plated meals and we all are still raving about the steak and the bacon wrapped shrimp! Service was excellent. Elle and Eden both helped us with the planning and Elle was there that evening. Amazing! Highly recommend it for groups that are too big to just use the Pierpont private dining areas.
Holy cow! The best French toast I've ever had. I added 2 eggs, which were cooked perfectly. My wife got the Duck Pastrami. A new dish they recently added to the brunch menu. It was really good. 2 brunch dishes and 2 cocktails was $90.Food: 5/5
Old world charm exudes from every inch of this restaurant. Built in 1914, it's easy to feel transported back in time when dining here. We went for happy hour on a friday evening at five and were able to find a table. Our server was wonderful. Wish I would have caught her name to give props. Our oysters were fresh, the lobster mac was creamy and rich, and the charcuterie was thoughtfully curated. Unfortunately, our fritto misto di mare was a bit salty. Overall, it was a great experience, and we will definitely be back.
What a treat Pierpont's is!! Wow! We made reservations on OpenTable. We were seated promptly in this gorgeous restaurant. The decor was super cool. They have the tallest bar I've ever seen. Emmanuel was our delightful server. He's been there 24 years and knows his stuff. You should ask for him. Everything we had was amazing, starting with the complementary sourdough bread. I had some PEI oysters that were outstanding! My wife ordered the clan and corn chowder which was divine. I had the spinach salad with rhubarb dressing. Wow!! Our steaks were perfection. My wife loved her 5oz tenderloin Oscar style. I had intended to order the bison ribeye, but they were out of it. So Emmanuel suggested to coffee and school chili rubbed KC Strip. It was the best steak I've had in KC. Actually, I've only had one steak better in my 54 years and that was at Bazaar Meats by José Andrés in Las Vegas, an A5 Kobe. This one was a fraction of the price and simply unbeatable. Just wow! We can't WAIT to go back!!! Fantastic!!
Traveling into Kansas City, my trip was destined for greatness starting with my first dining experience at Pierpont's at Union Station. From the moment I stepped through the doors of this iconic establishment, I knew I was in for a treat, and Pierpont's did not disappoint! First and foremost, let's talk about the food. When in Kansas City, indulging in a Kansas City steak is a must, and Pierpont's truly sets the bar high. The steak was cooked to absolute perfection, showcasing a delightful balance of tenderness and rich, savory flavors. Each bite was a testament to the chef's expertise and the quality of the ingredients. To complement the steak, I also ordered the crab cakes, which were nothing short of spectacular. They were crispy on the outside and filled with succulent crab meat, seasoned to perfection. The garlic whipped mashed potatoes were the ideal side, creamy and bursting with flavor. The cocktails were equally impressive, crafted with precision and creativity. The bartender's attention to detail was evident in every sip, making each cocktail a delightful accompaniment to the meal. Whether you prefer a classic martini or something more adventurous, Pierpont's cocktail menu has something for everyone. While the food and drinks were exceptional, the highlight of my visit was the unparalleled service. From the moment I was greeted by the friendly hostess, I felt warmly welcomed. The bartender was knowledgeable and engaging, ensuring that my pre-dinner drinks were exactly to my liking. However, it was my server who truly made the evening unforgettable. Attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about providing a top-notch dining experience, the server anticipated my needs and made excellent recommendations. The manager's visit to my table was a pleasant surprise, and it was clear that customer satisfaction is a top priority at Pierpont's. The ambiance of Pierpont's at Union Station is another noteworthy aspect. Housed in the historic Union Station, the restaurant exudes an old-world charm that is both elegant and inviting. The grandeur of the architecture, combined with the modern touches in the dining room, creates a perfect atmosphere for any occasion, whether it's a romantic dinner, a business meeting, or a special celebration. Pierpont's at Union Station is a dining destination that should not be missed when visiting Kansas City. From the impeccable Kansas City steak to the exquisite crab cakes, the delightful garlic whipped mashed potatoes, and the masterfully crafted cocktails, every aspect of the meal was exceptional. However, it was the outstanding service from the staff that truly elevated the experience. I cannot recommend Pierpont's highly enough and look forward to my next visit. Five stars without a doubt!
We went for happy hour and enjoyed a spread of appetizers and cocktails. The Lobster Mac & Cheese will have you craving to return! The salads are incredibly fresh if you are craving a tasty salad. I tried the Wedge Salad and my friend tried the Butternut Squash Salad. We also ordered the creamy Baked Pimento Cheese served with fruit and bread. The Happy Hour Menu has some discounted drinks as well. If you are looking for Happy Hour on a budget or simply looking for cheaper prices, this may not be the spot for you to go. However, if you are looking for a more sophisticated or classier happy hour, Pierpont's is the place to go! This restaurant is great for dates, celebrations, and/or less formalized business syncs. Make sure to add Peirpont's at Union Station to your list of places to enjoy a meal in Kansas City.
Our server, 416 Night BA, was great She was really on it and helped guide us through dinner The food was great too, including my granddaughter’s steak burger
I'm not a 5-star guy but I couldn't honestly answer anything other than perfection for my visit here. We were treated great, the food was top-notch, and the ambiance unbeatable. We will be back.Food: 5/5
This was the first time that my husband and I dined at Pierpont's. Our dining experience was extraordinary! I loved the historical architecture, restored, and appointed with period accuracy. The service was exceptional, such as our savvy server Mira, whose menu and wine pairing recommendations were spot on! And finally, the food. My husband had salmon, and I had scallops. Our seafood was so fresh and grilled to perfection, and the sides were just as thoughtfully prepared. We are definitely going back, and I am placing Pierpont's at Union on my top 5 of Kansas City restaurants!
