Pivotal Fitness - West Ashley

If I could give no stars at all I would. The way business is handled here is completely unprofessional. Most of the staff members are nice but the least of their concerns is your health/fitness. I only have had my membership for a month. When I did my tour I was given all these deals BY MOUTH and when it came to the next month, none of the promises were applied. They tell you what you want to hear to get you in the door and to sign a contract. The personal training is a joke. First off, you’re paying 280 a month for four 30 min sessions a month. You do not get a meal plan or any other special thing they tell you before in orientation. I will not be returning to this gym and will call everyday if need be if my account is not handled.

This gym was great for working out with weight machines and treadmills. It is a bit overpriced for these services. After belonging to the gym twice, I have found it extremely difficult to get out of a contract; even though the contract had expired. The third party payment service (Peak Payment Solutions) is a nightmare. Good luck canceling with this group. They are rude and their website is ineffective and hard to maneuver. I would recommend another service.

A heckuva gym. After visiting the Mt. Pleasant location of Pivotal recently, I dropped in here for a day pass while in Charleston for the afternoon, and this wing proved to be as good as its sibling. Friendly staff, a nice big locker room, a clean facility, all the weights and equipment you could ask for - Pivotal is a good, well-rounded gym, in my opinion. Also, reasonable rates on day passes. I had myself a great workout, and left satisfied and refreshed. So, thanks to everybody who makes this place happen. Keep up the good work :D

The manager signed me up for a membership while touring. I called back and cancelled the same day. He had told me that everything was taken care of and I would not be charged. Nobody told me that I would have to provide 30 days notice of cancellation to Peak Pay, the third party who handles payments. The manager neglected to note the account of what he had told me over the phone; so now I look like the liar. DO NOT FALL FOR THESE SCAMMERS! I called Peak Pay and told them the situation. The only way to get out of the contract is a buyout of the contract. $250. Nobody told me about these things when I signed up or when I had called to cancel that same day!

Wow where to start! I have had memberships my entire life with gyms . Pivotal fitness in West Ashley is quit frankly disgusting and their customer service is horrible ! The woman’s bathroom consistently smells like feces. I recently canceled my membership due to building a gym in my home . When I signed up I was told I could cancel at anytime with absolutely no cancellation fee. Well now this is a huge issue apparently. Every employee I have talked to has given me the run around. They do billing outside of their facility so getting an answer from anyone is nearly impossible ! Once I canceled I still am having money drawn from my account and once I was finally able to speak with the manager Nate after multiple attempts he basically told me he could not do anything. I have never in my life had an experience like this with a gym ! Im still in the process of getting a refund which I have high doubts that will be happening. Incredibly frustrating and highly disappointed in this facility. I will say their child care is wonderful though ! The women in that part of the gym are very friendly and welcoming .
