Holy cow! I'm honestly shocked at how bad this food is. I hadn't had a Pizza Hut pizza in some years, when my wife and I saw the "Triple Treat Box" advertised on TV. She immediately said she wanted Pizza Hut for dinner, and I never turn down a chance to eat pizza, so I ordered one, along with some boneless wings. The food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. Unfortunately, both pizza were almost unbelievably dry. I don't know what you have to do to a pizza to make it this dry. The crust was like cardboard, The toppings literally chipped off. The "cheese bread" was just a mass of burned dough and brown stuff. The cinnamon rolls were slightly less tasty than the ones that Pillsbury makes. The chicken was somehow greasy and dry. I've had better meals in public school cafeterias. Every gas station in town has pizza that is far superior to this slop. I've eaten the cheapest Little Caesar's grab-and-go pizzas. I've eaten Domino's 2 for $6 pizzas. I've eaten Totino's pizzas cooked in a microwave. They were all better than what I received tonight from Pizza Hut. When I was a kid, Pizza Hut was a huge treat. The pizzas were hot, fresh and delicious. If you have any Pizza Hut nostalgia, you'd better eat there quick. They won't be in business long selling this garbage.
Order was correct and food quality was good. Delivered to our hotel room on time. Order taker was great and even called back to verify something. I would have rated 5 starts, but they did not provide plates, napkins etc. t⁶hankfully the hotel had some extras for us.
My boyfriend and I ordered pizza through the Pizza Hut online app with my saved address information that matched what Pizza Hut had on file for my order, DoorDash picked up our order but didn't deliver. Claiming that we provided the wrong address. After almost an hour and a half of waiting and trying to sort it out with the Dasher, The dasher canceled our order. We decided to call Pizza Hut but there wasn't much they could do since it was more of a "DoorDash problem" BUT Jamie The store manager of this location went above and beyond for us. They had already turned their ovens off and they still decided to come through and make our pizza and have it delivered in 10 minutes
Food is still awesome! Trusting the delivery half of your business model to Door dash not smart. I don't get Pizza Hut often but now that delivery doesn't work, its a lot for me to get to the store. I want my tip back so I can give it to my neighbor.
Idk if this is petty but I ordered 3 extra marinara sauces with my cheese bread and they still gave me one :
The delivery driver was super nice and professional. There is snow and ice everywhere and it's cold AF but this gentleman had a great positive attitude!
The last two orders I placed with pizza hut on their app showed that the food would get delivered within 35/45 minutes. After 50 minutes, 45 of which the app stated that the order was being prepared, I called to check and make sure that the food wasn't forgotten the first time it was, and the gentleman on the phone said "oh the app always lies, were actually 2 hours behind Wednesday night at 8pm, but we can start making your order now, but it's going to be awhile before someone can bring it to you; so, what do ya want to do?" The employee was rude, and seemed like he could care less about the customer experience. I cancelled the order. After having a horrible experience twice, I will never order from them again. If you want pizza within a decent time, a good customer experience, and that actually matches the time displayed on an online order, don't go to Pizza Hut on Douglas in Urbandale.
The people at PH are very nice and the pizza was great! Update: I have stopped ordering from this location. Have ordered pizza for delivery or pickup many times. Pizza is really good if you get it but more than once I never got my order. I had to run to Casey’s to get pizza at 9PM. Supper was late but good!
Food was exactly prepped how I wanted. The delivery driver was beyond amazing and try enjoyed his job
The best way I can describe this location is the McDonald’s of pizza places. These folks make it very clear that you are a burden to them. The process of ordering a pizza is surprisingly difficult. Ordering it online is annoying, and hard to make custom changes. Last couple times I’ve called to order I was put on hold for 10 minutes until the call center in Texas had time to take my order. Having to deal with an out of state call center to order a pizza that’s a few blocks away should be a deal breaker by itself. The last two times they told me they were unable to deliver so I had to go to the location where I waited an extra 15 minutes after arriving right on time. This last time one of the two pizzas I ordered was wrong. They gave me cheese when I ordered pepperoni. Every step of the process was frustrating and that’ll be the last time I ever do it. I loved Pizza Hut growing up and it was always such a treat to go there. Now it’s bottom of the barrel. It’s a shame.
