I used to buy records and gear from Platinum in Seattle in the late 90s, they were awesome then and still are! I needed a new DJ controller. Everyone online were sold out, and I happened to come across Platinum Records Portland store online I didn't know they were still around. They had my equipment available and shipped it out the next day with free shipping! Great local company. I'm glad you're still around. Bonus note. They have thousands of vinyl for sale as well.

Platinum is the quintessential spot to get your needs handled as a DJ in Portland and the surrounding areas. They have working knowledge of Hip-Hop, Electronic Music, and EDM events and can help you source everything from Mics, Mixers, Controllers, CDJ's, Turntables, Needles, Lighting, Speakers, Recording Equipment and more... They have a solid collection of Vinyl and even a bunch of good CD's and Videos. Platinum Mixlab run by veteran Turntablist DJ Wicked is an amazing place to learn everything from the fundamentals of DJ'ing to the finer points of mixing and scratching. They also host Skratcher Portland which is a session where everyone from novices to the best tutntablists around freestyle scratch and teach each other how to get better. I went in this week to have one of my Technic turntables serviced... It was quick, easy, and inexpensive and I couldn't be happier... They even hooked me up with a new grounding chip and longer RCA's for an extra $40... can't beat that!

Great business! I ordered a pair of needles for a new set of turntables which I’ve just upgraded to. They got all the way to my apartment bldg, but somehow the unit number was missing not the fault of Platinum. It had something to do with a glitch in PayPal. The package was returned to sender. I contacted Platinum and explained that I had a gig coming up that Friday and had no other needles to use. They checked with the owner and promptly sent out another set via next-day air. I got them just in time to pull of my set without a hitch. Not to mention, I LOVE the needles! Great sound. They were also the best price I could find anywhere. That coupled with no sales tax, and I was very pleased overall with the experience. Thank you Platinum Records! I will be shopping with you again!

I live in Portland and was trying to buy a Rane four online with PayPal and want it to pick it up from the store since im local. Well the guy that answered said that if I bought it online I can’t pick it up and can only be shipped. I offered to bring my I.d. Which matches all my info and he said I couldn’t pick it up because I could be fraud!!! I was willing to show my license!!! It’d be more like ley to be fraud by just ordering online versus showing my face up in person!!!! you lost $1700 worth of my buisness…..what a joke…seriously not the first time I buy with PayPal locally and will call my purchase.

Amazing shop. Been going here since 2011. Taken the DJ classes and finished it, now in 2019 retaking it for refresher. Great deals on equipment and vinyl. They make you feel like family here. Tony, scott and all the rest. 10/10 best shop around.
