Sean, in the Portland store, spent time with us today explaining the new technology in cameras and helped us pick out our new camera and some accessories. We are extremely happy with our new camera and the level of service Sean provided us. The Shutterbug knows how to treat their customers, offering value and knowledge.
I stopped into Portland Shutterbug in need of assistance with an old Minolta 35mm film camera. The employees were incredibly kind and helpful and ultimately saved me a longer trip to a different camera repair store and likely lots of money. I am not local to Portland and needed a quick fix for the camera on my trip and I got just that. The store has tons to choose from, great film options, and great service.
The staff at Shutterbug are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I've been in a few times to buy gear both personally and for my employer, and I always come in with a lot of questions. They Sean and Tanner answered thoughtfully and recommended solutions to meet my needs while keeping costs contained to a modest budget. I was even able to find some used but fully serviceable gear, which I really appreciated.
Sean at the Portland location is the best! He was nice, informative and did not make us feel stupid. We came in for one camera and left with something better and enough information to be professional photographers. He gave us options based on HIS knowledge and experience for but for our needs as beginners. NO SALES PRESSURE! Go see Sean at The Shutterbug, Portland location for your camera and video needs, his customer service is too notch.
I had just bought a used DSLR and some lenses at a pawn shop down the street. I stopped in to have it checked out and was greeted warmly and patiently. The people in the store really helped fill in the things I needed and checked out all the gear I bought to make sure it worked right. They even gave me a tutorial on how to use my new camera. I felt very supported and accepted despite my inexperience.
I've been going to Shutterbug for a few years just to buy Polaroid film and have always had a good experience. Today my partner and I went in to purchase a Canon DSLR camera that I've been eyeing for a while. She gave me a Shutterbug gift card for my birthday and we finally went in to buy. I couldn't be happier with my experience. Kyle the store manager helped us and was extremely friendly and personable and clearly knowledgeable about their products, and photography in general. I'm a newbie to true photography and Kyle answered all my questions expertly and made us feel welcome and taken care of the whole time. I absolutely love Shutterbug and would definitely recommend the shop to anyone for their photography needs.
The Portland Shutterbug is my go-to place for all things camera related, and specifically film camera related! I am in the store almost weekly to get film developed and scanned- their turn around times are UNREAL, usually next day for color- and about ~5 days for B&W!! Kyle and Sean are ALWAYS a huge, huge help whenever I have something weird going on or want to talk shop or new film options, also I would be remise without mentioning Tanner, Levi, and Luke- essentially the entire team is always 100% on top of it, and are great with helping me troubleshoot or give me cool ideas to explore! Love you guys!!!! Oh also, great for passport photos- ha, a small thing, but they do it right! :
I am so glad I bought my Sony a7r iii camera at Shutterbug 714 SW Washington in Portland. When I first went to Shutterbug, I had gone to several camera shops in the Portland area so had narrowed down my search to several models. I wasn’t sure I would find what I needed at Shutterbug since it was a small store, but I discovered the store had a good range of options given its size. At Shutterbug, Kyle, the manager, took a large chunk of time to find out what I was looking for, to answer my questions, and to guide me through the features of each camera. I really appreciated his vast knowledge about the cameras and his open, personable approach. During two more trips to the store before making my final purchase, other employees were also considerate and helpful. After I bought an a7r iii and a zoom lens, I returned a couple of weeks later to seek additional information that I couldn’t find on the internet, and again Kyle took the time to answer all questions. After months of using the camera, I had mixed feelings about the camera. The capabilities of the camera, including a pixel count of over 40, allowed me to do things I couldn’t do with my previous camera a Nikon D750, which was a great camera for me for nearly eight years . My best shots on the new Sony were brilliant, but I kept missing shots due to focus or exposure issues. Things got a little better as I explored the many settings but I had persistent problems with focusing and exposure, resulting in a growing number of ruined shots. When I went into the store to buy some camera accessories, I mentioned this to Sean. Like Kyle, he took the time to answer my questions and gave me some good advice. He realized, however, that the answers to some of my questions would take quite some time to explain in detail and mentioned that I could book him for a reasonably priced one-hour tutorial if I wanted to know more. Sean turned out to be the perfect person to provide the tutorial. He encouraged me to send some questions in advance and he was able to thoroughly answer those as well as the impromptu ones that emerged during the tutorial. Although I had done research on many of the settings on the camera, I learned lots of relevant new information. Throughout the session I realized that I had not understood the unintended consequences of some of my setting choices, accounting for some of the focusing and exposure issues with which I had been struggling. As a result of the session, I feel like I have a brand-new camera with all sorts of new features and possibilities, and most of my focus and exposure problems have been solved.
Went in to drop off film and get a firmware update on my camera. As per usual, they are kind and always helpful! Great customer service, would recommend! Also, shoutout to Kyle for being the best
Sean, Bree, and Kyle are some of the most helpful people I've ever met. That Luke has some serious photographic talent that is only paralleled by his dedication to the customer experience. Couldn't recommend this location more.
