The Pollo Riko concept started for the Villamil family as owners of a small Colombian restaurant in southwest Houston in the early 90's named La Herradura (the Horseshoe). Coming from Colombia to the states with the American dream on the for front. The Villamil family made their journey to New York then moving to Houston.
Pollo Riko's mission is to mimic the experience of dinning at a restaurant back in Colombia. Since 1992 our focus has been to bring quality home-style dishes at an affordable price. Our signature dishes, prompt service and continual consistency in experience has been one of our staples in our day to day operations, although we understand the frustration some may find by our Cash only approach is only because we are sensitive to raise our prices to All patrons to compensate for the charges brought by the acceptance of credit/debit cards.
