I’ve been going to pollo Rico for a long time and I have to say this is by far one of the best Delicious chicken in the Houston area unfortunately my last visit there was not very pleasant as ya can see on the photos I’ve uploaded the plantains were dry I couldn’t even eat them and the yuca frita was also dry , in my opinion they shouldn’t sell something that they know is not good shame on them .
I've dined here many times over the past 25 years. It is a very simple restaurant with good food.Food: 5/5
By far The Best rotisserie chicken in Texas! And the price is an awesome deal for all the food you get!! My friend from Chicago loves going there every time he visits! It's the first meal he wants as soon as he is in Houston!Food: 5/5
I was really surprised to see the cost of 1 rotisserie chicken $12.70. The average price for the area is between $4-$8.00., despite the price I just had to try it and judge it after a taste test. The chicken flavor had that fiery with a little smoke taste to it with a pinch of salt flavor, not bad. This place has been at this location for some time now and I'm glad to see that is still open. They are currently following the COVID-19 safety guidelines and location is for pick only. NOTE: CASH ONLY. if you wish to pay with card you must order online.
I've been going here for over 10 years. It's the best every time. I love the rice and I love the plantains and I love the chicken. I love everything about it really. Keep going it's great.Food: 5/5
Very disappointed . It's very far from where I live and to get un cooked yuca and very dry green banana not to mention very expensive. I advise people check your oder especially yuca and bananas . I just told my husband I'm fed up with this place they've done this to many times to me .I'm not coming back I'm done.i rather buy whole chicken from Sam's or cosco way cheaper and huge . never again for me. Does it matter if it was dine in or delivery? The food was discussing . And it was to go . didn't you read my complaint i drove to pollo Rico .
IN MY OPINION, the chickens are very small and without flavor, the sauce is just water with ground pepper and salt, the rice has no flavor. First and last time I visited this place
It shows that you close at 10. I pulled up at 9:10 last night. Two guys were inside. One waved his hand signaling to me that they were closed. I drove there for nothing. If you close at 9 then post the correct hours.
I haven't had their food since 2008 but was so happy to know their mash potatoes and Chicken haven't changed...we used to joke they put crack in them because they are so good u can't quit eating them and want more when it's gone.
First time here. I wanted roasted chicken to-go lunch with a side and a drink, so I picked their lunch special with quarter part leg & thigh with a salad and drink. I also ordered similar to-go order intended to drop for my mom. As I gave the cashier my credit card also the only one who bagged order, he pointed to the sign "cash only". Oh man. I searched my wallet and found $15. He said that was not enough for 2 orders. So I canceled one. So it was about $8 for a special lunch order. He gave me a cesar salad in a small plastic container and a can of brisk ice tea. I paid and stepped aside as all of a sudden there was a long line behind me. I checked my order and had to look twice for the 2 pieces of chicken under the 2 pieces of flour Tortilla. The chicken pieces were so small I thought that was Cornish hens. But Cornish hens I know is expensive, so it can't possibly be Cornish hens. I looked over the rotating roasting oven and saw 8 chickens on each rack being roasted. Tiniest chickens I've ever seen, I don't think even any supermarket sells them. I was wondering where did they get those tiny chickens from? Needless to say this lunch never filled me up. The 2 tortilla served no purpose but to keep you full. On top of that, the salad was old and wet. The 2 tiny green plastic containers given to me I assume one was the salad dressing. I added the thicker one into my salad and mixed it up. It was sour and soggy. The old salad and the wet & soft croutons was inedible. The chicken pieces was well marinated to almost salty, of course due to its small size. That was the worst lunch I had and still hungry. Now why the line of crowd behind me? I concluded they came from a tall office building nearby. Hence they showed up exactly at the same time. Within walking distance there are only a Jack in the Box, a small taco food truck and this chicken place so people had to walk to the closest place they could get lunch that is not hamburger and not having to wait in the sun, not much of a choice here. Needless to say, this is my first and last trip to this roasted chicken restaurant. I'd rather bring my own lunch, a much bigger quarter piece of chicken taken from a whole roasted chicken from Sam's, for $4.99, and I could always have more for dinner. I could even make my own salad getting a big box ready to eat from Sam's and my choice of salad dressing in Walmart. Thanks to this restaurant I've got my lunch ideas and so much worth it than this restaurant and their dwarf chickens.
