Very helpful and excellent customer support. I haven't even bought anything from pXcycle, but I contacted them for help troubleshooting a different brand of electric bike, and Gunther was very helpful. He generously spent almost a half hour on the phone with me to help figure out the problem I am having with a Juiced bike. Again, I didn't even purchase this from him. He gave me many tips and pointers to help me figure out why my bike won't stay turned on. Don't listen to the other negative reviews. They don't appear to be authentic. I would gladly buy a new bike from Gunther, especially if I cannot get my Juiced bike to work!. Thanks again, Gunther, I'm really glad I called!
Gunther was able to quickly fix my brakes when my partner stopped by for service on his own bike. My ebike is from another company & he was able to advise me on a couple upgrades I’ve been considering. It was really kind of him to fix it as we were passing through town, I really appreciated it
Gunther doesn't return phone calls or emails, and isn't there during posted hours when I have visited his shop. I bought two bikes from him during his Indiegogo campaign, and regret it. Good communication goes a long way, and that is missing here.
Gunther is a pleasure to work with. He has unparalleled service and is extremely knowledgeable about ebikes. He has great bikes and I would recommend them over similar ebikes you can get on the internet because they are better bikes and you get great service.
Gunther is beyond a nice guy. I'm a DIY kind of guy, so he helped me figure out my e-bike conversion for a trike. He was full of ideas, enthusiasm and knowledge, as well as spare parts, tools, and more. With more than a dozen years of experience in e-bike conversions, I trust his knowledge. And you can feel it just stepping into his shop. Peak behind the counter and you'll see all sorts of motors in the midst of repair, parts that only a mad scientist would know what they are, and tools galore. Thanks, Gunther!
I purchased an E bike on line and ran into issues. After not getting the help I needed from the company, I found Portland Electric Cycle. Spoke to Gunther and he had me bring my bike in. Within a few days he had the problem diagnosed and fixed. If you're looking for an electric bike or a mechanic, Gunther is your man. He's honest and pricing is fair. I could not be happier with repair. More power and better mileage.
THANK YOU, GUNTHER! Did research on highly regarded ebike conversion kits and settled on Bafang 750 W mid drive kit. Then found Portland Electric Cycle on CL and got in touch with Gunther, the owner and expert on ebike conversions. Gunther did a conversion of my GT Grade. We spent time discussing/determining optimal battery/controller configurations and features -- shift and brake sensors to shut motor down when shifting and braking -- for long distance touring/commuting. Gunther did a superb job. I now have a fast relatively light fun road/gravel bike -- 5-20 lbs lighter than manufacturer offerings -- costing 50-70% less with a nice warranty and expert maintenance when needed. Have ridden 600 miles in two months with no problems. Very very pleased with Gunther's effort and highly recommend him.
Picked up my ebike today. Man it was hard to pull the trigger to even get my bike down to Gunthers shop, but im glad i did. Bike is smooth, quick and very easy to ride. Had a blast today prior to the downpour! If you decide an ebike is right for you, dont hesitate, he backs up his work and is honest. Money well spent and reasonable at that!
I drove all the way from northen Washington to Gunthers Portland shop to just look at the PX cycle E-XC + because it seemed too good to be true and when I got there after 300 miles it did not disappoint , the bike checked almost all the boxes , hydraulic brakes , fenders , front and rear racks , 9 speed , I love the shifter , 27 inch tires he even gave me a extra set of tires for free , POWERFUL mid drive motor , a nice suspension front fork. I added a thudbuster seat post and new seat but thats it. I have had the bike for almost a year now and love it , the only thing the bike was missing was a hand throttle and now I see they come equipped with them , I dont miss the throttle enough to get a new one though , I just love my bike! When headed out in the woods for the first time I was worried about some of the steep climbs that I would have to climb coming out and the bike performed better than I expected , it was mostly down hill going in and I was also concerned about having enough battery to get back to the truck . Well by the time I got back I still had 3 bars left after 15 miles of hard riding 7 1/2 in down hill and 7 1/2 out up hill now I dont worry any more . I still want a extra battery so I can spend multiple days out in the woods . With the front and rear racks I can bring a cordless chainsaw with me to clear the trails as I go, added some panniers for supplys ,sleeping bag bungeed to the front rack and a small back pack for other essentials and me and my dog are set. Cant wait for summer
Gunther did a conversion for me. It’s a KHS fs with a Bafang mid-drive. I call it “the Beast”. It’s super fun to ride, has good range. The display is cool, in color, and has a USB port so I can charge my iPhone as I ride using Trailforks. I wish the motor didn’t hang so low because I can’t jump larger logs and obstacles but I am hoping to fab an aluminum skid plate so it will slide over things. Yea I could have spent 2x or 3x or 4x ! the $$ and gotten something specifically engineered as an ebike and avoided that but really? This bike does great and did not break the bank!
