Portland State University Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships

Worst service ever . I was treated horribly and disrespectfully as a student . I was transferring school and asked for help in he next step of my loans transfering . They Conituento tell me it would be taken care of . It wasn't until a week before I moved and numerous calls I got an answer of what I had to do . I had to fill out a form which takes 4 weeks to process I was later dropped from that college due to to the lack of help and their information I also took out a private loan of 12,000 I had 1,800 on my account after I left , I asked about my bill and my school repeated told me it would be covered by my loan I had taken out . Later I found out from my loan office they have to request the money . NO ONE TOLD ME ABOUT THIS AT RHE OFFICE. My school sent back my loan money and I am unable to pay. 4 emails later no reply . 5 phones later no help and here I am still out of college with my debt accumulating . I have never been treated so unprofessional

Once I got through my questions were answered thoroughly and I did receive the help needed in a friendly and professional manner. I'm giving only 3 stars because prior to getting through by calling in, I was kicked off the online chat feature three times after waiting 45-47 minutes each time and being down to #1 in the queue. When it seemed like it would be my turn a message popped up (all 3 times!) stating, "All users are busy at the moment. Please try later."

Extremely unhappy with my experience. Due to their ridiculously long processing time, I nearly lost all of my scholarships and my opportunity to even attend University. PSU needs to revamp their financial aid department STAT. This is UNACCEPTABLE.

I have been trying for 10 days to reach them. I have tried emailing with no response, submitted the forms they have asked but have not received a confirmation. I have tried calling multiple times only to be on the phone for over an hour only to have it ring, no one answer, and be looped right back in to hold music. I have tried the chat function but no one is available. This is ridiculous! I have tried FOUR different communication methods over 10 days and can't reach anyone! I pay way too much money to this school to receive this treatment.

A little abrasion in their voice on the phone, but they answered all of my questions fully and quickly.
