Portneuf Grille & Lounge

Was very excited to go here for our wedding anniversary. The Ahi tuna was good although I kept having to ask for more ginger. The service was below standards. I have been in the restaurant business for 20 years and was really expecting for the prices they charge a higher professionalism of staff. The server seemed as if she was too busy for us. And the ambiance was far from comfortable. I felt like we were sitting at the children's table at thanksgiving. The chef came out and spoke with 3 other separate patrons about their food but did not bother to stop although we made eye contact with him each time. And above all it was difficult to find. They really need to live up to their advertising and prices. ...sad.

The food is absolutely fantastic. I ordered the lemon honey grilled salmon and it was probably one of the best pieces of salmon I've ever had. Phenominal. They call themselves "fine dining," and yes, the food is spectacular, just know you're gonna be eating in a small room in the basement. If they updated the decor, this place would be top notch.

Drinks are top notch. Freshly squeezed oj.... bartender very attentive. Appetizers where good.... but couldn't have dinner because we doesn't have a reservation, but people in front of us, same situation could eat at the bar without reservations. We came back of course the special was unavailable. Restaurant was so hot. Bread was nothing special yuck.... store bought cardboard- dry yeast. Burger very cold at least fries are extremely hot.

Not really sure how this restaurant is rated so high. It's horrendous, the food was awful I sent both my wife's and my food back twice my steak was way undercooked under seasoned (except for in one spot when it was way to salty) the wait staff was great the Valentine's day musician was awful he took 7 breaks just in the time that I sat down to have my meal. To the chefs thanks for giving us such and awful meal my wife really appreciated it. If you really want good food walk down the road about 2 minutes and head to chuck wagon the ribeye there so mich better
