Sandpiper Restaurant

The place has the fancy aura that they do well to portray. Food is priced on the higher end. I had the lamb chops and thought they were done pretty good. I have had better lamb chops though. Loved the complementary bread too. This place can get busy, seems to be a popular spot.

My expectation were this was one of the few fine dining locations locally. They do a good job of offering lots of gluten free options but lack in sustainability options. Salmon is farmed salmon therefore not fresh as the menu implies. Apps and bread were good, but the house salad was a bit of a sorted disappointment and when we asked for balsamic vinaigrette we got balsamic vinegar. Entries were fine but presentation on the plates was a bit sloppy. Wine options were the best we've seen in Pocatello. Our server was busy, friendly, attentive, worked hard, and I would say new because our questions for her she had to get answers from the kitchen. The low rating for the SP is because I think the kitchen could do much better for the prices they charge and the service could use some YouTube training on fine dining experiences. Knowledge customers want sustainable options and well presented foods when plates are in the mid $20 range.

We have celebrated our birthdays and anniversaries at the Sandpiper for over 30 years. The food and service have always been excellent...that is why we keep coming back. Whoever gave them a one star must think he's Anthony Bordoin (sp.?) in The Big Apple.

The food is great and the service as well. Get your steak flaming. But be careful its hot from heat.

Food and drinks were great! Service was out of this world. I can't recommend this place enough. Best restaurant in pocatello by far.
