They have party on the bridge on certain days and it's a good time,if you like local brews or not they have something there for you to enjoy. There's different foods and desserts to try and a local band to liven the evening up. Whether you just getting off work or coming from home it's worth the walk on the purple bridge. Although it isn't purple anymore but you will know by it's purple stripes at either entrance. If your not there for the party the bridge is divided for people walking their dog or riding bikes or just walking for the view the bridge on it's own has it's own ambience.

Do not visit Cincinnati or the surrounding area and leave before visiting the Purple People Bridge! There is a TON to do on the Kentucky side! Plus the walk itself is well worth it. I've been told that sometimes they have live music on the bridge. There's also a lookout point on the Ohio side. Enjoy!

This was a pretty awesome way to walk from Kentucky to Ohio. Lots of interesting things to do and look at on the way as well. It wasn't over crowded. I didn't feel unsafe in any way. This is a must

You can see Ohio downtown skyline from the bridge and Newport by the Levee on the side of Kentucky. Almost 2/3rd of the bridge is on Ohio's side and the rest in Kentucky's side. The walk on the bridge is great, they keep it clean.

Neat way to walk from Kentucky to Ohio or vice versa. Great for runners, walkers, etc. There are plaques describing the Purple People Bridge, officially known as Newport Southbank Bridge, connects Newport to Cincinnati. Originally opened as a railroad bridge, opened to pedestrian and auto traffic later but closed to auto traffic and reopened as a pedestrian only bridge.
