Quiet Oaks RV Park

We stayed here while working in Lake Charles. It was worth the drive not to pay the high prices of Lake Charles RV parks. The owner and manager were wonderful to work with. If we had any concerns, they were quickly addressed. And they are always mowing and working around the park. I always felt safe. This is not a fancy campground. If you want that, go into Lake Charles and pay double.

Found this park through Passport America. 50amp spot was $20/night. The spot they tried to put me was too short to fit my rig. Luckily, I was able to grab another spot for the night. The park is worn down. Mostly permanent spots with some short term slots. Convenient for the price.

I was excited when I saw the high ratings and good price but.......... Most of the people that live there are long term residents that work for the Railroad or Oil Refineries. They leave early in the morning and they like their beer when they get home in the evening. In the week I was there the police were there twice (2 separate occasions). The drunks get loud and rowdy the later the hour gets. There is no door knob, lock or latch on the mens bathroom/shower. When I reported this to the office staff the response I got was "I am not replacing it again, I have replaced that door knob 4 times". I suggested a hook and eye lock to hold the door closed and was told "I will see". There are empty beer cans and trash all over the occupied and unoccupied campsites as if no one ever cleans up. This has the potential to be a decent campground if there was some effort put into cleaning it up, controlling the drunks and putting a lock on the mens bathroom/shower.

Nice out of the way RV Park. Rates are very reasonable everything is included. Very full right now because of Construction Labor has a lot of spots. On my third visit and enjoy not being cramped in!
