I've been going to RA Dental studio for over 2 years now and have nothing but the best experiences while there. Dr. Akbar is a true professional. Prior to Dr. Akbar and her wonderful staff- I always felt that Dentists were trying to "sell" me procedures that I may not have needed. Gratefully this is not the case with this practice. I've had extensive work done to fix other dentists mistakes and the pricing is always fair. Their financial department has also been extremely kind in working with me when I've had financial lulls due to the pandemic. They don't hound you for payment and always work with you. I have to get deep cleanings annually and the hygienists are always gentle and thorough. And everyone there is just so friendly! It makes the anxiety of dental work so much better when you know that the staff genuinely care about their work and their patients comfort.
If you are searching for a professional, caring, and friendly staff, this is the place. From the moment you enter the office you are greeted by smiles and enthusiasm to help you. We just moved here from Dallas, and was hesitating on finding a new dentist here in Atlanta. Dr Akbar, Ellen , Jennifer, Tara, and Chardonnay were amazing. The reviews are absolutely true. The Hygienist did the best job I had ever had Tara. If you need this service, this is the place to go. B Hall
RA Dental and Dr. George are amazing! Their whole staff are kind and professional; In stark contrast, I had a terrible experience going to the dentist in my youth and had been apprehensive to go again. The years of neglect finally caught up with me, and I had a lot of pain in my teeth and gums. Dr. George listened and was so patient as I was dealing with a lot of anxiety. She was gentle, but thorough. My teeth have never looked or felt better. They also worked with me to fit into my budget. I still have more work to do, but I’m so grateful I’ve finally found my dentist.
TAKE AWAY: if you are told you need fillings, please get a second opinion or get it done elsewhere . She is in the business of telling you you need unnecessary procedures or items such as a night guard for example. MY experience: If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I went for a cleaning that took 2 and a half hours because Dr. Akbar had too many patients scheduled at the same time and was bouncing between rooms. I was informed that I needed fillings which looking back may not have even been the case given how pushy and money hungry she seems to be. I should have went somewhere else but they had already did all of the imaging and had availability. I got the fillings done and a month and a half later I wake up to excruciating pain from the tooth that had the filling. I went to an emergency dental facility and was informed the pain is coming from the rushed way she decided to fill in my tooth which caused the filling to start to shrink and shift my nerve which was causing the pain. I had to have the filling removed and redone properly. I was told that quite a few of her patients have come in with the same issue. This whole ordeal was upsetting and unnecessary had she just taken the time to do it correctly in the first place this wouldn't have happened. I'm surprised people haven't made formal complaints against her because she should not be practicing with the poor methods she seems to use on patients that can lead to other unnecessary issues.
They told me I had multiple cavities and kept pushing for me to get them filled. They even texted me months later that I needed to come back for my fillings. They also very aggressively told me I needed my wisdom teeth out and wouldn’t stop pushing. I went to another dentist, he confirmed I have 0 cavities and by the looks of how healthy my teeth are, I’m not going to be someone who likely struggles with that. A surgeon had already told me not to remove my wisdom teeth and I got it confirmed after my appointment if they haven’t moved by my age they most likely never will, with a slight chance at menopause due to hormonal changes. They are frauds and are filling fake cavities for money. Stay away
The service is great! The people are so nice. BUT when it comes to billing you may want to think again. It took them 6 months to tell me that service was not be fully covered. I hope that have changed that practice and make sure they are a little more up front and timely.
Listen to the negative reviews. I used to be very fond of these people when I first started using them. They were very nice and accommodating of some problems that I had. The problem is they are extremely pushy about making you pay for different things. They will push for you to immediately schedule extractions, fillings, etc. Sometimes even the same day. It’s sad that I can’t even tell the difference between what I actually need to have done to my teeth and what they’re just trying to hustle me for.
Just drove 45 minutes to get here for a 7am to be told I have no insurance coverage left, when I haven’t used a SINGLE benefit this year. They confirmed with me YESTERDAY that I did in fact have coverage. I called my insurance company at 8am when they opened 45 min into my hour drive home and it was confirmed that I have FULL BENEFITS available! They also tried to tell ZocDoc that I “missed” my appointment, when in reality, they were incompetent. So unprofessional to tell me one thing and have me waste my time to try and charge me their non-insured rates!
Denise is my dental hygienist. She did an excellent job cleaning my teeth. She has that special talent that not all hygienists have. As a chiropractor in Roswell for the past several decades, I've learned a thing or two because I've seen a thing or two and I highly recommend Denise.
If I can give this location 0 stars and still be able to make this post, I would. But 1 star it is, because someone needs to know how terrible this practice is. I have never felt more taken advantage of in a situation. Dr. Akbar and her team literally told me everything I wanted to hear so I could sign off on a surgery and take my money. For my last couple of appointments, Dr. Akbar and multiple hygienist were very pushy about getting my wisdom teeth extracted very soon. Every appointment, the receptionist Ellen always tried to go right into scheduling. Even after telling them numerous times I wasn’t ready to schedule. So my last appointment, 3/8/22, the hygienist and doctor were very adamant about getting my teeth extraction. They barely checked my teeth or my gums before insisting on the wisdom teeth extractions. The receptionist even came in to schedule my extraction that very day, pushing that i need to get my wisdom teeth as soon as possible. I told them I couldn’t get a ride that day, but I can schedule it for the following week if I would be able to go to work the next day, since My work schedule was already made. Ellen said that I would be good to go, and I could easily go to work the next day, and immediately asked how I could pay. She broke down the cost, and let me go. On the day of the surgery, there was an extra cost of laughing gas that wasn’t in the initial break down. I payed, and then I went to the back to the most painful experience of my life. While they were putting the laughing gas on, one of the hygienist asked if I wanted a doctors note, to which I asked if I needed one. They told me I would be able to go back to work. The hygienist looked at me crazy and said I’m gonna need one. So I’m crying throughout the whole surgery because I was lied to, everything hurt so bad because they were literally splitting my teeth to get them out, and no one in that dental studio had my best interest at heart. All they wanted was my money, and it freaking shows. It honestly feels like malpractice, and I would hate for anyone to suffer like I did, financial, physically, and emotionally. Don’t go to Dr. Akbar at the RA Dental Studio.
