One of my favourite restaurants at DuPont circle. Ramen was rich, sushi was succulent. Can not fault the warm and prompt service. Eating at the bar, I had a blast watching the army of undocumented Lat-Am cooks prep the food. Who needs Japanese chefs, I guess? Don't care as long as the food is good.Food: 5/5
My grandson and I were walking around DuPont Circle looking for a place to eat and this is where he chose. The lady seating us was very nice and friendly. Our server was friendly, quick, and efficient. The food was good. My grandson ordered 3 servings of sushi with how good it was. He’s a picky eater so this must have been good for him to ask for 2 more orders plus one to go for his flight back to WA state.
Ramen is delicious!! The server is attentive The place is popular. It’s recommended to visit around 5pm right when they begin their evening hours. The pork rib is amazing! The spicy toro sushi roll tastes great! We have a great tonight :
One of the best Japanese restaurant. I have had in the USA. Plenty of choices. Every dish I ordered were delicious . All good was made with an extra degree of freshness and bring out the original taste of ingredients. Highly recommended if you like Japanese food. And service was awesome Food: 5/5
The Tonkotsu Ramen was very solid. Not the best I have had in the area, but I definitely appreciated how the broth wasn't too salty. Friendly and efficient service, and the price was very reasonable.Food: 5/5
The bowl size is deceiving, it is the smallest bowl of ramen I have had in DC… the soup flavor is very basic. The worst part is the grilled chicken which we asked for to replace the pork, dry, no flavor, and overcooked. Will not return.Food: 3/5
I had a lunch at a crowed bar area. The hostees had to seat everyone inside because it was rainning outside. I ordered a black cod bento box. It came with many items, more than other Rakus I have been to. When I look for the spoon for meso soup, I was told by the bartender that they normally serve it Japanese style which is taking the bowl to slurp it. I am uncomfortable about this. I must have been to all the local Rakus about 100 times. This is the first time I learned the different way. The pickled cucumber was too salty. The black cod and meso soup is a bit salty for me. Maybe it is okay for some people. I found two pieces of bones from the black cod to make me very careful to eat it. I tried a piece from a side dish plate with pinkish cubes. I asked the bartender what it is. She said that it is salmon. For me, it did not taste like salmon. Other small dishes are okay. Overall, I felt that they tried to give a lot but more is not better. Among Rakus, I think that Rakugaki is the best and Rakuya is the least for quality and service. I go to Raku on Wisconsin Ave the most near my home. They are consistent with Quality of food and service. So it is my go to place. I won't come back to this Rakuya. Too bad, it is near my work.
I loved this place. Went there after walking and sightseeing museums and cherry blossoms. The food is really good and fresh. I ordered the gyozas and miso soup for entrees, and the Seoul roll. I wish the roll was a little bigger however I felt satisfied. Do yourself a favor and order the strawberry blossom lemonade, it’s DELICIOUS and si refreshing, perfect for summer too. The prices are also reasonable. Would definitely go back to try the ramen’s.
Everything we had here was good The salmon with mango sauce was the star California was also good here. Staff very friendly and helped with the selection.
Just WOW! My bf and I have experienced and eaten a lot of fantastic ramen and this has definitely hit every mark. Unique flavors for sure and just absolutely amazing. Recommend the curry soup and the pork belly appetizer ESPECIALLY.Food: 5/5
