I walked into this barber shop after reading numerous reviews. It seems that Steve, indeed, is the guy to go for because the guy who cut my hair was terrible. When I walked in, I asked to wash and shampoo my hair since I was wearing gel on it. The lady who washed it was very nice and that part of the experience was very good. When I started the haircut, however, the guy cutting my hair felt inexperienced. It's difficult to take a man seriously if it feels like he's insecure at his job, especially when their job is to style men. We are trusting you with our appearance. After he felt he was done cutting my hair, he simply left it cut without style, and began to remove my styling cape. I had to ask him to style it! He put the cape back on and started adding gel to it, then he hands me the comb to style it myself! Needless to say, I felt like he gave me no choice and I ended up combing my own hair, even thought I paid for him to cut and style it like any other place. My haircut wasn't complicated, it was just a very unusual and disappointing experience.
I am new in New York moved recently from New Jersey and finding a hair dresser was hard!!! I have been to three barber shops so far and they have ruined my hair really bad and the service was also really bad!! I walk past Reamir Barber Shop in Midtown Manhattan everyday on my way to work and this Barber shop looks really professional so thought I'd give them a try. I can say I have never had such a nice haircut + mustache trim. The staff provided great service and hospitality that you don’t expect to get at barbers. So I will never go anywhere else. I get comments regarding how I look now regularly and always promote you guys to my friends!! Although prices are very reasonable for your services as I believe its world class!! Keep up the good work, guys.
I love Reamir Barber Shop. I look forward to going there because when I leave I feel so refreshed and uplifted. You just can't get that feeling from one of these clipper joints that does not even use skin care products. Reamir and Co has their own line that I can bring home to keep that new haircut feeling. I will never get my haircut anywhere else but this Midtown East NYC barber.
I just moved to the East Side and have been looking for a good barber near me. A friend told me he goes to Reamir NYC Barbers so I gave them a try. Best barbers I've been to in months. Professional, affordable, and no wasted time yapping or pushing products I didn't want..
Benny is incredible. My husband has never told me to write a review for anything except today lol. We we're both thrilled with how wonderful his haircut was. He went from shoulder length hair to a shorter cut and was worried about if the barber would take into consideration what he actually wanted. He had a terrible experience at his last barber shop and was nervous to try this one. Benny called my husband over into his chair. My husband quickly showed him the inspo pic for his cut and shave and Benny went to work. Within 15 mins my husband went from scraggled long hair to a perfectly executed haircut and beard trim. We couldn't be happier. Thank you Benny. My husband is very excited he found his new favorite barber.
So based on the reviews I saw I decided to try this place out since it is only 2 blocks from where I work. The place is tiny, it only has 3 barber chairs and can really only hold 12 people max in this room. I got a wash and cut and it was great. Everything they do here is thoughtful and they truely do care about what you the customer wants. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a traditional barber who takes their time and give you a good haircut.
Pros: Very affordable. Convenient to offices. You can make good conversation with the barbers and people, but there is no pressure to say anything at all because small talk is the worst. Cons: I've been here three times and each time they did a mediocre job at best. Worse, the barbers always get combative when you ask them to cut your hair shorter than they want to. Hey guy, I gotta live with my haircut, not you. Really would not recommend except for the price.
They charge a couple bucks for every little thing like to shave the back of your neck. It's a haircut, not a Chipotle burrito. But they do a decent job.
If you would like the best shave New York has to offer, you must try Reamir Barber Shop East Side. They have the absolute best barbers on the planet. When I get shave there I can go for two days without shaving myself. That is what I call a close shave.
Based on the other reviews I saw about this place, I decided to give them a try. I was unsure of what to expect when I walked in but was pleasantly surprised at what I saw. Everything about the place was clean and the barbers were all friendly. I explained what I wanted to the barber and he made it happen. I am happy with the cut I received.
