If you think DC doesn't know pizza, you've never been to the Red Light. Their Detroit Style pizza rivals some of the best in it's class. The OG Pepperoni was perfect, the cheese was plentiful and tasty, the sauce had a kick, the pepperoni gave the perfect kick. Couple great pizza with great drinks and fantastic service, this place is a triple threat.
Phenomenal pizza!! My favorite was the burrata. Will definitely be back and recommend to friends. They have a large area with outdoor seating and a few heat lamps hanging from the ceiling.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: Yes
It may be called Red Light but, by all means, GO! ...Cheesy, but couldn't help it. So yea, first time here and ordered the "Classic Cheese" to provide me a base palette for their Detroit Style. INCREDIBLE Look, every restaurant has a different take on their pizza let alone pizza style, but Red Light has nailed it for the DC areas' best Detroit Style pizza IMO. Mouthwatering flavor from crispy edge to crispy edge, this thick pizza is prepared masterfully, cooked to the limit. No complaints from this pizza patron only that looking forward to the next visit distracts me from trying others... Rating this pizza a 4.4 out of 5
Fast service, you have to go up to the counter to order so it’s not full service. The pizza is really good! There isn’t much seating compared to the popularity but there’s still a good amount.
The deep dish pizza here is really unique - it was heavy and had a ton of cheese. I could only eat three of the four slices in one sitting. I still liked it and would come back. There are four vegetarian options among the Detroit style pizzas, and the one in the pictures is the Dearborn Heights pizza. I most enjoyed the crust, the sauce on the pizza, the basil, and the pine nuts. When I come back, I’ll be getting the MoTown caramels onions and meatballs or the 6 mile jalapeños and spicy honey.
Walked by this place one hundred times and just tried their amazing pizza. It is a Detroit Style pizza made in cast iron pans. Sauce is amazing! You order at the counter and they bring the food to you.
They are surprisingly fast to bring out your order, the pizza is Detroit style and they don't have that many options, it helps when you have no idea what to order, cuts down on the time it takes to make a decision since there is about 10 Pizza options. The weird thing to me was you get your menus from the front, you take them back to your table, and once you're ready to order you go back up to the window per say, and order. They have drinks as well same thing not many to choose from but i wouldn't say it's a bad thing. The only thing i would say is your buying a personal pizza 4 slices no matter what you get standard. If you have a big appetite probably not the place to go. O and a big caveat no parking, you are going to take more time finding a place to park then it will take you to conduct this whole op.
The pizza is delicious, the prices are reasonable, and there is plenty of options. The salad could be better, but it's a pizza place, so I think it is a great pizza.
What more can I say? I am from Detroit and this is the best literal best slice of home in the dmv. I’ve this restaurant. The ranch is also very good. I can tell they made it in-house.
Excellent pizza - I lived near here for a couple of years and they became a go to for eating in the patio is nice and even has heaters in the winter and take out. The pizzas were always quick and delicious. They reheat well if you have leftovers - they are worth the price since they are filling so one pizza can be good for a couple of meals. The flavor combinations are spot on and the crust is deliciously crispy. The Dearborn Heights, Red Wing, and Motown are favorites, but I don't think you can go wrong and they were good about accommodating modifications. If you haven't tried Detroit-style pizza before, this is a great place to do it - I live near Detroit now and Red Light is still a favorite! Vegetarian options: Great vegetarian pizza options and willing to modify their meat pizza options to make them veggie-friendly even removing the meat from half, when I was sharing with a meat eating friend.
