A little over two hours drive from Louisville Airport, KY, the Red River Gorge and mountain driveway are simply beautiful. Along the driveway is the visually stunning Wall of stratified Rock. There are a few hiking spots along the Red River. The entrance to the tunnel is a grand mountain with a drizzling waterfall. A very narrow stream runs all the way along. You can also spot a few miniature waterfalls here and there. When you reach the canyon, you can park your vehicle and take pictures from the viewing point. When you look overhead, I'm sure you will spot a raptor.

AKA Red River Gorgeous. Get your Backcountry permits at the Shell gas station off of the Parkway. Great place to go rock climbing, day hiking, overnight backpacking. Bring plenty of water if backpacking as during the dry parts of the Summer it can be somewhat difficult to find a good water source. It can also be noisy at night. This is known to be a party place. Beware of falling trees during dry season.

Absolutely amazing place. Beauty and wow factor around every curve. From hiking to kayaking. Nice places to swim and wade to cool off. World famous for climbing and rappelling.
For those that like to go cruising with the top down or riding bikes. No better place. With the curvy roads and spectacular views. Just don't be in a hurry. Slow pace is the best way to take it all in.
Take time to check out Sky Bridge and Chimney Rock.

Very good place to get close to nature. However, there are more beautiful parts around if you are willing to drive. for example - the great smokies.
There is a place for 8 miles kayaking trips if you are interested. also, ziplining seemed like big here, although, we didnt do it.

Very beautiful place, plenty of stuff to see and do. You can, walk, hike, kayak, drive and see the sights. I didn't have as much time as I wanted to explore, it will take you a couple days to explore everything. So I'll definitely have to come back when I'm in the area and see the stuff I missed.
