The evening receptionist was extremely rude to my friends and I when all we did was nicely ask for extra bedding that we needed for our room. When she finally brought it to us, she banged on the door and said “take it” and dropped everything on the ground with a huff. I do not recommend staying here or at least don’t interact with the employees since she was so hurt by us asking for a simple favor. If you don’t want to work in customer service then get another job.
Stayed here visiting family over Thanksgiving. We stayed in a queen 1 bedroom suite. Overall the room was decent. Can tell it's an older hotel that was remodeled. Nice to have a fridge, didn't use the other kitchen amenities. Bed was decently comfortable. The tub looked like it had some stains in the bottom of it and it looked like a wine stain I hope that's all it was on the floor in the bedroom. Also appreciate that it's pet friendly. Breakfast had good variety- more than just the usual assortment of pastries at other places. Hot breakfast items, cereal, yogurt, bagels and such. Must have been better than what was across the street because my husband saw people from the hotel across the street walk over and help themselves to plates of breakfast food and walk back to their hotel The biggest annoyance was I had called 2 days before our arrival that we needed a pack and play as we were traveling with our toddler and the nice girl in reception said she added it to our folio so it was noted prior to our arrival. We did the mobile check in prior to arrival but when we got there- no pack and play available. We ended up having to use the pull out couch bed which looked out of place in the remodeled room. Like it had been picked up at a second hand store and the cushions vacuumed. Thankfully my husband was able to make a kind of soft enclosure for our very roly poly toddler using pillows and blankets but it was definitely sketch. The original sheets looked unwashed and the mattress itself was awful. We requested extra, clean sheets because we couldn't trust what was on the bed. We made due, but it was definitely frustrating. Overall, it did what we needed but nothing wow. We will probably explore another option the next time we are in Salem.
We ended up having to stay 2 full weeks. It was awesome. The pool and fitness room were amazing. Anytime we had a question, the people at the front desk were more than happy to help.Rooms: 5/5
The shower curtain smelled like old dirty laundry. The bathroom vent needs to be cleaned. At first we thought the girl up front was being rude, until we realized she was on a good one. Going back to Salem next month, I won't be staying here.
I was a employee here for 2 1/2 months. It’s a wonderful hotel. The employees are very nice. This hotel is a four-star rating in my book
I experienced a minor medical emergency; the two young ladies managing the front desk managed my situation with grace and aplomb. I highly recommend staying at this hotel.Rooms: 5/5
Jenna was great and very accomodating during our check in process. Location of the property is very central to the 5 freeway and functions as a great pit stop for long road trips. No complaints. The rooms were also clean and had everything we had requested.Rooms: 3/5
Have stayed at Marriott hotels many times before and today is a prime reason why. Kind and helpful when I wasn't even a guest on this trip. Thank you Marriot. Tim, you're amazing!Service: 5/5
Very nice rooms, the staff were friendly, the grounds are very well kept. A nice warm pool for swimming in, basketball court outside, decent rates. Loved the size of our room with a full kitchen for us to use. Super comfy bed. Will definitely use again!Rooms: 5/5
