Owner is such a nice person who takes care of her family. Beautiful perfume, one of a kind earrings some that SHE makes, stop in if shes open!!
Beautiful atmosphere and an almost overwhelming array of jewelry, statuettes, clothing, incense and much more! The woman who runs the shop isn't always there, as she is a family woman first and merchant second so maybe call if you want to be certain. She's a very cool lady though, and I left with a very lucky purchase. Check it out, you may find more than you bargained for.
Best gift shop in Portland! The owner is so nice and helped me find a bracelet and told me the history behind it. Lots of jewelry and incense and little gifts. These are real authentic imports, not the fake stuff on eBay, so you have to pay a little more for the quality. Don't miss out on this place, you won't be disappointed.
Such a lovely shop! Yeshe is super friendly, and they have a wonderful selection! Came to get a khata scarf to offer to my teacher, and ended up having a great conversation and making a new friend!
I visit this shop every single time I visit the Hawthorne neighborhood and it’s always a joy to see Yeshi the owner! I love conversing with her and I feel at home here. The merchandise is always so fun to look at and if you are looking for a business to support I would suggest this one!!
Beautiful store filled with beautiful gifts! Men, women and children, they’ve got it all. From a huge selection of incense and jewelry to traditional thankas paintings and modern clothes. Come into this little woman and minority owned store and get lost.
Road to Tibet is Hawthorne’s hidden gem. It’s an absolutely beautiful shop filled with amazing imported art, jewelry, incense, tapestries and so much more. The owner of the shop is warm, welcoming and an incredibly fascinating person to talk to. The shop has an uplifting, positive and even healing aura surrounding it. I always discover something new with each trip to Road to Tibet. A wonderful place to shop while also immersing yourself in positive vibrations and energy.
Very impressed by the high-quality authentic sterling silver jewelry. It feels like you step out of Portland and into Nepal. And the owner is an absolute delight with extensive Tibetan knowledge, happy to support her.
Beautiful things offered pretty well above the price range I was expecting or willing to pay. Of course my experience may have been somewhat affected by the fact that I was chased half a block by an angry unhoused guy when I left the shop: apparently, focused on my task, I walked too close to him without interacting so he thought I was avoiding him and started screaming epithets at me and following me as I headed for the Tibetan store across the street. General note: this is not the way to get someone to want to give you money. It was close to closing time and I was trying to reach both stores before they closed, looking for a particular item. The lady in the store I went into next said she doesn't feel safe in the store anymore because of the difficulties with aggressive people who need care and can't seem to get it. I am now officially worried that the Hawthorne neighborhood is after so many years of being delightfully counterculture, slipping into being unsafe. By all means go, but I'd recommend going in the middle of the day or with other people.
This is a great store, it has all kinds of amazing items. The owner is a wonderful person and makes visiting the store all that much better. Highly recommend visiting, you wont be disappointed.
