Rumbi Island Grill

I used to like the food here. Now I just feel like it’s a bunch of rice for too much money. You have to pay extra to order steak. The portions are inconsistent. I have to ask about the size in order to get a somewhat decently portioned size. But if you order extra steak you pay a lot more for the same portion. Rumbis is an interesting chain. The side of veggies taste like cardboard. The burgers are your better option. Sweet potato fries are also okay. But again, overpriced. Desserts are not too bad either. The employees were nice and quick to clear tables.

Ordered Chicken rice bowl and a noodle steak bowl with no veggies. The rice bowl reminded me of minute made rice with reheated chicken chunks. Would have been an okay deal if it didn't cost almost 11 dollars. The noodle steak bowl came out with veggies and the server said that's just how they are (we ask no veggies). This thing was basically blain soup that our 2 year old pushed away. The only reason for the 2 stars was it was edible but far from enjoyable.

I am very frustrated with the new menu set up because the individual ingredients for the different food items are not listed. I’m not sure if this was a franchise-wide switch or just the Orem location, but it needs to be changed back ASAP. Have an allergy or an aversion to a certain food/ingredient? Forget it. You’ll be asking the poor girl behind the counter about every item on the menu. I’m really not sure why Rumbi thought this was a good idea. It holds up the line and I’m sure it drives the poor employees crazy as well. The app that is being used to replace the punch cards is not intuitive in the slightest and feels like a downgrade in value compared to the punch card. You get 1 point for every $10 you spend (before tax). Despite the frustration with the menu the employees are still very nice helpful (even when I literally asked for the ingredients in every salad). I really love the rice bowls and salads, but seriously the menu situation is bad and needs to be changed!

A little pricier than I expected. The menu was frustrating because there were no descriptions. I was interested in a salad, but there was no list of ingredients anywhere. I could have asked, but I didn't want to hold up the line. I'm not going to order a salad based solely on a name. Also, most of the sauces are practically identical in taste. The food was good. Their aloha pork was really delicious, and the rice was perfectly cooked. I'd eat there again, but only if a friend insisted.

Sweet potato fries were excellent. The rumbi rice was good, but the rest of the food was merely adequate. The teriyaki sauce was far too sweet. And everything was extremely expensive for the portion sizes.
