Sahara Restaurant

It's a horrible shame that a wonderful restaurant that has been a fixture in the tech center for over 20 years has gone so downhill. While it still looks the part and is clean and comfortable, the menu has shrunk and favorites like the kefta have been replaced by oddities like shrimp. They now nickel and dime you on everything and the portion sizes have gotten smaller while the prices have risen. The food quality while still OK is not as good as before. I am very disappointed as there are not many middle eastern choices in Denver. I recommend going to Jerusalem instead.

Great service and food. The humus is fantastic and the garlic spread is tasty. Get the spinach appetizer. It is the best. The hot tea hits the spot.

I have been looking for 6 months for good middle eastern food. So glad to have accidentally found Sahara. Tried the Sahara plate to sample a little everything and was not disappointed by one single dish. Not to mention the baklava, which is homemade daily and on a whole nother level. Will be driving down from Denver often to frequent this place 5 stars all the way.

My favorite Mediterranean lunch spot in all of the Denver metro area. The Sahara Special offers a sampling of the delicacies famous here. Creamy hummus, smoky delicious babaganoush, crispy, beautifully seasoned falafel and samples of meats on top of rice and salads. Family owned and run, excellent!!

This restaurant does not disappoint! Very well set up and decorated to look middle eastern. Beautiful place. They were quite busy and it's no wonder. The staff is impeccably polite and attentive. The drinks are innovative and delicious. I had a Hibiscus Mojito and my friend had a drink made with lemon vodka-both awesome drinks. As for the menu, there are numerous appetizers, all good. We had Falafel. The entrees consist of beef, lamb, and chicken dishes: several of each to choose from. No pork. There is also a vegetarian selection. I had Lamb Couscous (excellent!); my friend had a beef dish with Saffron rice he rated 6 out of 5 😄. For dessert we shared chocolate "cake" which was gluten-free; the texture a mixture of brownie-meets-cheesecake-meets-fudge. As we were eating, a belly dancer entertained everyone! As for price I'm happy to say it was $$ out of $$$$. We will most definitely be returning to try other items on the menu!
