DO NOT USE THIS DOCTOR . He has no interest in your well-being. I was running a little late due to traffic . I called scheduling before my appointment time to let them know . I was told I had a 15 minute window . I arrived at the 15 minute mark . The lobby was empty . They refused to see me . I took off work to see this new dr as my previous dr at this practice QUIT. Think about that . I am a 20 year patient of this practice. This doctor wants me to respect his time , what about respecting mine . I do not trust this dr because of this and will chose to leave this practice. If you feel you should have the same respect that he thinks he deserves then make a different choice … notice in the reviews that they respond when it poses a potential liability but not when long time patients are ignored and dis respected . The manager of this location did not apologize. Here name is Amanda …she just said they run a tight schedule. . What about the patient’s schedule. THEY DO NOT CARE.
Changes Rx without notice. My husband takes medicine for anxiety and since we moved to GA, he needed to find a new doctor who he could see regularly. He has been taking the same dosage for over 2 years and it was working great so once we were referred to Dr. Mathew, the recommendation was to continue the same dosage; however, after a few months, Dr. Mathew would send in his Rx for the wrong mg, cutting the dosage in half. Therefore, my husband was having to take more medicine more frequently. Then he changed the dosage again only giving him 10 pills per refill! He needs 1 per day! If anyone knows anything about anxiety medicine, you know that you are not supposed to play around with the dosage or consistency. Especially if the patient has been taking the same medicine for years and has the medication regulated. In order for it to work, one must take it regularly. I don't know how he can even do this without seeing my husband for an appointment!
If I could give zero stars I would. A coworker recommended Dr. Mathew to me as she raved about him over a virtual appointment. She never met him in person but she said I would love him. So I felt good about establishing a relationship with a new PCP as I was looking for one who would be thorough, proactive, and open-minded. It took me over a month to get an appointment, and I was very excited about the visit as I was told that Dr. Mathew would listen to your concerns and be receptive to your needs. I was totally blindsided upon meeting him as his demeanor was alarmingly condescending and pompous. I couldn't believe it. I was proactive and brought all the documents in that were requested so that I could consult with him about a second opinion. It was all in the way he responded. Very unprofessional and not concerned about the patient. I waited over an hour. And he still proceeded to rush through the visit saying that six more people were waiting. I understand there is the scare of COVID but I was not told until I arrived that the visit would be by phone verses in person unless I wanted to be seen. When he entered the room he spoke to me like I was an idiot. There was no real exam. I came prepared. Did my research. And knew what I was talking about. But again he spoke to me as to belittle verses help. I wore a mask. Properly. And he criticized how I wore it I fault myself at that point because I should have spoken up. As I do not want anyone else to go through what I did. It was the worst experience I had ever had. And I basically paid for someone to be rude to me. There was a sign on the door saying Piedmont was striving for 5 stars. I will give them to the staff. They were kind and helpful and seemed to care. The only complaint when scheduling the appointment is that I was told that Dr. Mathew would do a particular test and he said he didn't do it. So that should have been clarified up front when I asked or I would have gone to a specialist. I was told the wrong information there. Although other PCPs do this test so I honestly think he didn't want to be bothered and thought I was making symptoms up when I had proof. Other than my disappointment with Dr. Mathew the people making the appointment were kind and helpful as well as the staff. I was also told something by Dr. Mathew that was very contradicting as he told another patient something different. It was like he was brushing me off. It was all very unprofessional and upsetting. And if I am ever on the verge of a heart attack or stroke I will not be visiting Piedmont. Dr. Mathew set a very negative tone. And Bethany Belle I feel your pain.
Dr. Mathew is an excellent choice for a primary health care physician. He is accessible, listens to the patients problems and proactively acts on the symptoms reported. His pro activeness helped us identify a serious coronary issue with my heart at a very early stage, and provided the crucial lead time to take care of the issue.
Excellent doctor. He spends the necessary time lisent to you and give you really good advices
I have been receiving excellent care from Dr Mathew for over a decade. In 2017 he suggested I be tested for HEP-C. I resisted telling him I had none of the lifestyle choices usually associated with this condition but he advised me that many baby boomers had been turning up with it. I agreed to be tested and sure enough I tested positive for HEP-C. He referred me to a Gastroenterologist that treated and cured me if this condition before I had suffered any liver damage. This is only one example of his awareness and ability. I originally selected him out of convenience. His office was located within 1 mile of mine. However I no longer work at that office but I gladly make a 21 mile journey to see him now because I find him to be a trustworthy and excellent physician.
