Sakana Restaurant

Stumbled across this spot and I'm so glad I did! The food is amazing and the restaurant itself is really nice as well. All I've had so far is each of the hibachi meals and they have been stellar! Excellent value and delicious. I could eat here multiple times a week. I want to try the rest of the menu but I can't stop ordering the hibachi. I also order the salt and pepper wings as an appetizer and they may be my favorite salt and pepper wings from a Chinese restaurant in the city. Sakana has become my new favorite Chinese/Asian food spot. I highly recommend it! So far I've only dined in so I can't speak on carry out but every time I've been there, there has been a nonstop flow of people coming in for carry out so I'm guessing it's just as good to go

When they first opened this restaurant was amazing. But the service and food is just terrible now. The people who work there can’t even unserstand you. The food takes forever to get. They need better people. This restaurant will burn if not. I’ve never seen the place packed. I probably won’t be coming back because the last few times has just been terrible.

Freshest sushi and the most bang for your buck in East Columbus. Only restaurants that can compare are Mr. Sushi and Akai Hana, but those are a bit of a drive. The roe is always fresh (which, unfortunately, I cannot say about other sushi places in the area). Service is always prompt and pleasant and they even made special chopsticks for my daughter.

Went there for the first time and tried a few different things, Everything was delicious and fresh. the food came out in a very timely manner and the staff is very polite. This is definitely my new favorite Asian style restaurant hands down.

WONDERFUL for both take-out AND a romantic dinner out. Nice ambience and one of the few Asian restaurants in town that will prepare food with the Indonesian spices and cooking methods. I believe I heard that the owner of Sakana is related to the former owner of what used to be Royal Ginger at the Lane Ave shops, and their menus are very similar. So if you've eaten at one, you kind of know what to expect from the other. Food is savory and delicious, though service can be a bit frustrating at times if you have any special requests or substitutions, as there may be a language barrier for some servers. Please be kind and patient: they're very sweet and willing to please, and they're learning, not deaf. Sushi can take a long time to prepare, but the servings are HUGE - think specialty rolls 3 inches across at times! - and the ingredients are fresh, so it's well worth the wait.
