If I could give zero stars, I would. I went into the PO on Monday to send Xmas gifts and the postal worker said ground was going to take 2 weeks, arriving after Christmas. I ended up paying $30 more for a whopping total of $119 to send it priority. I was told it would be there on Friday and it arrived today, only 2 days later. The postal worker also blamed the airlines for the cost. So…would ground really have taken 2 weeks or was I just ripped off by the post office? I would say the latter. I will be ordering gifts online in the future and will bypass the PO altogether. Sad.
3 1/2 years ago, I upset a male postman because I did not want to put a mailbox on my front fence, which, would put my mail in the hands of anyone walking down the sidewalk. Months later.... you know, this is a long story, too long to share here. The ongoing problem with 2 managers and 2 mail carriers later, still will not deliver my mail, will not even speak to me. I am 73 years old, no longer drive, so, renting a post office box is out of the question, I should not have to do that, and too far for me to walk due to health problems. They have deemed my property as dangerous.?? Been on this street for 40 years and have not ever had a problem with the post office or their mail carriers. My mailbox is old and rusty and has been on the side my house for 22 years, that I know of, and never had a problem with anyone walking in my gate, walk up on my porch, put mail in that mailbox, turn around, walk down the steps, out of my yard and never fell down or even tripped, because my yard is dangerous? I have been told the post office can refuse mail service to my entire neighborhood, and entire street, because they have a problem with me. That's a threat! I cannot do that to others... Do I have options? What do I do? I have no money for an attorney. Salem Oregon
I have used this post office five times now and three of those visits I interacted with customer service. They are usually pretty busy but keep the line moving well. The place is always clean and they keep the free flat rate shipping boxes well stocked. They have always answered my questions, scanned my packages so I can get a receipt, and been very friendly and polite. One of the better post offices in Salem. I have been to each one since I ship about 10-20 packages a month. I generally choose my post office by where I'm doing errands for the day.
We went in as a family to get a passport taken care of for my toddler son. They were very rude, unhelpful and unwilling to provide and actual help. I will never be back and I see why the reviews are so bad. Clearly these employees hate theirs jobs. Stay clear - I wouldn’t be surprised if someone went “postal” soon. Be warned.
jerome cussed me out and told me that he WOULD NOT help me locate the package that was supposed to be delivered today.
This post office is great. They have what you need for shipping supplies and Mark is my favorite employee. He knows his stuff and has a no BS approach. I know he’ll handle all of my postal needs efficiently. I heard a customer talking to another employee about him while mark was right there, calling him a robot. It was insane. I disagree and feel that the customer was really out of line if Mark gets to see this. I really wanted to speak up but felt that it may make the situation worse. Anyway, I go out of my way to come to this post office because it’s predictable and I know I’ll be able to do what I need to do.
I've had to come to the Post Office and interact with the employees at least 5 times in the last 2 weeks and they have been so helpful every time I've been in. This is the best Post Office I've dealt with ever. Today I had to pick up a large package that I've been expecting for over a week now. The employee actually asked me if I needed help to my car. It was so refreshing to have such great customer service for a change! Thank you so much for making my day!!
Post office workers are incompetent and rude here. My package said delivered to my mail box. When I went out there was a slip saying it was too full definitely not considering I checked it the day before. Go to said post office and am told my mail was returned to sender because it was over 10 days old. Once again not true because I checked it the day before. They told me I never received any packages and both postal workers were extremely pushy to get me out and rude as could be. I know they stole my packages and they’re lucky I was able to get my money back through my bank. Children would be more honest and more competent. Would rather be stabbed in my eyeballs before dealing with this post office ever again.
Everyone who helped me at this location was very friendly and efficient. Both the people in the passport office knew exactly how to help me and were kind. The young man at the customer service desk was also really nice and got me out quickly. I was kind of expecting a bad experience from all the reviews, but it was the opposite. I was dreading going to the post office in Salem, as I was used to the small town office where I grew up, but it was a very pleasant and helpful experience. Be nice to people and they'll probably be nice back to you.
After 90 days we can't track our package anymore. No history where package was last at, just the feeling of defeat when you know you spend a good amount of money, yes it was not insured but that does not mean money was not involved. US postal office should do better than this, there is always a receiving end where these packages will eventually end up in, now who will claim it. Waste of time and money.
