I would not recommend that anyone deal with this company. Wish there was an option to give no stars. My eyeglasses were covered by my insurance, which the person who fitted me for them confirmed. But months later I got a bill for the total amount. I called them, left a message, as they do not answer the phone, no one called me back. I wrote to them several times and still got no response but I kept receiving bills which I sent back with notes. I even called my insurance company who confirmed that my eyeglasses were covered and they paid the amount requested by Sandia, but it was only a small portion of the total that they billed for. The interesting thing is that the bill they kept sending me did not even reflect the payment they received, it was the original amount! Finally after months someone called me and I explained that they must have billed incorrectly and they should correct it with my insurance company. The woman said she would look into it and get back to me within a week. She never got back to me. Finally the bills stopped coming so I assumed that it was corrected. But today I received a letter from a collection agency!! I am very upset with what I see as their incompetence and total disregard. I have excellent credit and I should not have to be dealing with this.
It's only four stars just because it's kind of pricey. But it's also worth it. The staff was really nice, the doctor was very, very thorough. I have never left a vision clinic before without a headache and having trouble focusing until now. I think they caught something that no other obstetrician has ever bothered to catch since everywhere else I've been was super rushed. So I am very pleased with just how incredibly thorough they were in making sure that everything was looked at and correct. But yes it is kind of pricey even with insurance. But I guess you get what you pay for, right?
I called in advance for an appointment, three weeks out. I asked if they took my insurance and was told they did. When I got there they did a complete evaluation $240.30 then came the adds. I got UV protection and an anti reflective coating. total cost including amount insurance paid, $539.28. My pay was $182.89. Other opticians charge $79.95 + glasses. Be aware, very aware. Glasses copay was only $30.00
I understand how hard and hectic it can be to work with the public. We all experience good days and bad days but Sandia Vision--Nob Hill has been consistently rude and unprofessional. Plus, the wait times are outrageous. My son and I were "overlooked" in the waiting room for the second time for over 30 minutes until I asked a young man in the eye glass section for help. During my son's appointment the young woman assistant seemed annoyed and rushed out. Save your money and your self-respect--please go somewhere else. I don't normally write reviews but this place deserves it. I would give it no stars if possible.
What a ripoff! Their prices are outrageous and no one really explains the billing process. The front desk staff are rude, unaccomodating and condescending. They don't answer the phone and don't return calls either. My advice, go elsewhere for your eyecare needs.
The doctors are fine but the reception billed my insurance incorrectly resulting in a "leftover" fee. I know my insurance and benefits well, so I knew that the fee I had paid originally was what I owed. To my surprise, I get a collections letter saying I owe Sandia Vision over $100. I pay it on the spot to clear up the issue, but checked in with my insurance. Sandia Vision stated they charged me more because I didn't buy contacts with them. So now I'm out more than twice my co-pay and no contacts. But then I find that my insurance did reimburse them for my visit - so they were paid twice - once by me and once by insurance. I still haven't received a refund. I won't be going back.
I made an appointment at the Nob Hill location, the earliest I could get was two months away. After waiting those two months they called me before my appointment they called to inform me that my insurance would not pay for the examination. This is incorrect information; they tried to pull the same stunt on my daughter. I wound up cancelling my appointment because I do not like being ripped off. If they can get this part right, then why should I trust them with my vision. No thanks.
I am in town for a month and have never been here before. I have an older set of glasses with me and no back ups. A screw striped out that holds the lens in. Sandia vision was very close to me and not a chain. I stopped in, I was greeted right away and helped right away. The young man that helped me fixed both of the failed/failing threads that hold the lenses in. While waiting i looked around, the place is clean and has a large selection of glasses frames. The staff is friendly. If I needed eye glasses I would give this place a try
The first time I went here was fine - staff was pleasant, they offered an alternative test to having my eyes dilated for an upcharge, and I felt good about the experience. The second time I went was for a LASIK evaluation. I did this based on the fact that they have an entire page on their website detailing how they can do pre-evaluations, they have a surgery center they work closely with, and can offer post-op appointments. Through the whole process though, the entire staff - including the doctor - seemed confused about what they were supposed to be doing. They gave me the wrong tests for the pre-op evaluation, including the upcharge option. They attempted to sell me new glasses. On top of the general incompetence, they were rude through the entire experience. I certainly won't be returning.
I ordered prescription sunglasses from this place, 4 weeks ago. They told me they'd be ready within 3 weeks. The 3rd week came and Chris told me that he called the lab and my shades were gonna be delayed another week because they were working on the second layer of coating on the ombre tones, that were supposed to be on the lenses. I called on the 4th week to find out if they'd arrived. Chris told me that they were delivered to Eubank and a courier was going to deliver them to nobhill and they wouldn't be available for pick up until Monday. So I called Eubank and after a brief time on hold, she told me she spoke with Chris from nobhill and my glasses were already there and ready for pick up. This was 5 minutes after I hung up with Chris and he told me they wouldn't be available until Monday. So I went to pick up my very expensive sunglasses that I've needed for work, and the lenses were completely black. No ombre like the display had. They went from looking classy shiek to looking like I bought them at dollar general. So I asked the woman who had given them to me, why the lenses were black instead of ombre. She said "did you ask for them to make them ombre"? I'm like well I assumed they'd come back to me looking exactly like they did on the display. I certainly wouldn't think I needed to ask and I most definitely was not asked, while my order was being placed. So now I have to wait at least another 4 weeks for the correct lenses. I was supposed to move out of state weeks ago but have had to struggle to find a way to stay here so I can get my glasses. They keep offering to mail them to me but luckily I'm an intelligent person and know that if I allow them to mail them to me in another state, I'll have to go through a different company to get them fitted to my face, thus voiding the warranty. Of course they themselves don't mention that. I guess they'd rather just let you get messed over when you try and use your warranty. What kind of mickey mouse operation is this place?
