Sandpiper

My wife and I went to the Sandpiper thinking it was a nicer place. We got there and found a hostel atmosphere in the environment. After seating ourselves at the request of the host, we reviewed our menus, which were slathered in Butter, and waited for the server. By the time the next table was seated, visited, brought their drinks, and ordered their food, we still hadn't seen our server. At least we had the prior clients receipt book for light reading, server never even picked it up. If that is the normal service and cleanliness, we'll only go back if the half the prices to compensate.

We are from out of town and wanted a nice place to eat. The place was clean and the waiter was fine. We ordered the salmon and halibut. Both of the fish was WAY over cooked. The prices were a little high for they way the food is cooked.

My husband and I were excited to try the food here since we had only heard good things! The food was not bad, but if you have any allergies I wouldn't suggest going here as they do not take them seriously. I'm severely allergic to tree nuts and I ordered some pasta and clarified with the waitress that I had a tree nut allergy and that there were none in what I was ordering. She confirmed and I requested that she inform the kitchen staff of the allergy as well to avoid any cross contamination and make sure we were all on the same page. Our food came out and on top of my pasta was some bread with pesto (containing pine nuts) on it. I alerted the waitress and she confirmed that there was indeed pesto with pine nuts on my plate. She was clearly annoyed with me as she took my plate back to the kitchen and I received no apology for the mix up that could've put me in the hospital.

The food was fantastic. We had the Garlic Brie appetizer, Hawaiian Crusted Halibut and my kiddo had the kids burger. It was mouth watering delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive (even on a busy Friday night. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Good food an nice ambiance. Has been in Idaho falls since the 1970s. Steaks are done anyway one prefers and the meat is good. Service always polite.
