Really nice campground. No power or water. Take anything you might need. Beautiful live oaks. Abundant wildlife. Very quiet.

This location is just opposite the side of 17 where you turn to Hampton plantation about a quarter-mile down the opposite road, Pass the cemetery on your right and it is a dirt road on the left beside a small white church and the rec center. It is very quiet, private, and serene. You can bring a camper or. tent here and camp over night. There is a nature boardwalk, and you can park near the dock where DNR docks their boats and fish off of a small floating dock. There is only room to fish on the floating dock pier for a couple of people, the pre-existing pier beside it needs to be repaired and is blocked off. Even driving through the old oak trees swaying over the dirt roads are worth checking it out- it is very picturesque.

I like to go there just to enjoy nature. I go to the end where the water is and walk down the trail and watch the birds and ducks. They are very skiddish for photography, but you can get them in the air. On my most recent walk I saw about six species of ducks. Three warbler species, several great blue herons, three egrets, two little Blue heron, one juvenile night heron. bald eagle, kingfisher, numerous song birds, Caspian tern.

Beautiful place to visit! Bring TONS of bugspray and maybe something to fan bugs away from your face. The trails are worth it.
