Cool venue! Nice old school style. Sound good!
Came here on new years morning and the bartender wouldn’t pour us shots an hour before closing because “she’s not shaking anything when they close in an hour”. What kinda bar in the French quarter doesn’t pour shots an hour before closing on new years morning. Grow up. She also just had a generally rude demeanor about her. The atmosphere was dark and musty. 6/10 recommend coming here, depending on how desperate you are. Won’t be back.
Really cool local music venue tucked in lower Decatur St between restaurants & shops. While this place is mostly known for its heavy metal, I've seen some amazing funk, soul, surf rock & acoustic bands here too! The dark lighting sets a nice vibe, drink prices are good. Everything from hazy ipa's to mixed drinks, and even some fruit infused vodka on tap! Lots of bar seating + a few booths off to the side. For a "metal" venue, the bartenders and the crowds are actually real friendly. Tickets for bigger bands are available online too which is huge plus. You sometimes get 3 or 4 opening bands, so you'll definitely your money's worth at a show. They're also open early to for a little day drinking action. Definitely check this place out, good times to be had here!
Hit up this punk rock bar on a walk back from Frenchmen Street to our Airbnb in the CBD. It’s a great spot to grab a beer when you’re already a little tipsy and chat with random locals. Nice bartenders over 2 visits and better than average art for the type of bar. You can sit at the bar or one of the few booths. 4 stars because I’d have to know if they can mix a solid cocktail. Should probably give it 5 for the Lemmy art. You never know who you’ll run into based on the varied clientele.
From The Blue Crystal to The Whirling Dervish to Santos Bar now reigning Supreme with One Eyed Jack's as a wingman on Lower Decatur. The #1 area in town that has turned more visitors in to locals and where locals go to lose their religion. Spoken from a proud?... Decatur Rat!
I'm kicking myself for not having seen a show here before now. Great stage. Upstairs bar perfect for getting drinks while downstairs is busy and a balcony you can drink on and over look the street below. I'm not, but if you smoke you can use the balcony too! Pretty awesome! Kick ass staff too!
Gotta stop by and say hi to Lemmy, right? We came in to have one drink with Lemmy but stayed for 4 drinks because Skyler the bartender was sooooooo fun to talk to. Santos is a MUST!! The bathroom is scary and dark as F#@$... bring a flashlight or bright cell phone so you can find the toilet... and maybe your own paper towels if you wanna wash and dry your hands.
