It's okay if you don't want to ride the bus to ShopRite. You can get a few items here at a rather reasonable price but nothing spectacular. It's okay if your in walking distance and don't have a car. You can find some food to survive to get to the next day and they do have fresh vegetables. Most of their items are brands I've never heard of but I've enjoyed. Most times they are out of stock on most items and I have to go to family dollar behind them to get missing staples they don't have and that can be frustrating. Also found rat holes in my bread. Basically a cheap store to get food to survive for the night but nothing else. The staff is very friendly I must say but the store is always empty and only one cashier. Most times I visit there are no customers and a very bare staff. If I had more money and a car and it wasn't so close to where I live I more than likely would shop somewhere else. The staff is fine but I can tell the owners don't know what their doing and the store is depressing. Don't get me wrong, I don't want them to close but it does need an overhaul and some tender loving care! I shop here at least 3 times a week and most times I visit the shelves are empty. Ouch! I honestly think this location would be very good for Aldi's. They would make a killing! but unfortunately most businesses don't want to come here in this area. As a former seasoned retail manager I can tell that this company is in way over there heads. Look at the reviews, a long history of issues and not one district manager had the recipe for success? Tragic!
My mom & love this place, super convenient, clean and the prices reasonable... gotta pay for bags tho
This was my first time shopping at Sav A Lot. I was truly impressed with the customer service. I've spent years in public service and it is always amazing to see the kindness in others. I was greeted at the door by a gentleman who asked if I needed a cart. I gladly thanked him. I found all I needed with the exception of two things. The cashier was cordial, and engaged in conversation. I must say I had a very pleasant shopping experience however, I would like to see an improvement in the produce on my next visit.
Not a bad store and nothing stays on the shelf !!! I would go back again !!!
Fast service but staff is ok. Food was good
The prices are not as cheap as you would assume a “value” grocery store would be. They lack a healthy variety of meat mostly red meat. Their canned goods are more than a dollar. They sell bruised up of vegetables and fruits for full price, might I say at prices higher than most farmers markets. Also you have to pay for bagsif it’s for environmental reasons why not opt for paper. All together I would only go here if I needed something quick. Other than that there’s a shop rite down the street.
This is a very small store with no deli. Prices are pretty good on what they do have. They also charge you for bags. But, in all, not a place I'll come back to.
Better than my last visit two years ago where I had an altercation with a rude and disrespectful security guard in which I called the corporate office to file a complaint. Since then no more idiot guard. Sad to say it’s always your own people…
They have a very good and fair prices
My experience was ok. I witnessed the security telling other customers that the store was close a reminder store closes at 10pm Monday thru Saturday. It was 8:49pm. So to others who try to catch the store at last minute try getting there around 8pm incase this was to happen again. I felt bad for the 6 customers who were tryin to get in. To anyone who may be wondering I am contacting an higher authority. BLESSED NEW YEAR TO ALL
