I’ve frequented Selena Rosa for a couple years now and I can honestly say it’s by far my favorite place to enjoy a nice happy hour with chips and salsa and be surrounded by a wonderful and helpful staff that are always will to go above and beyond. If you’ve got the time and the appetite chomp down on the delicious and hearty tacos!
Wonderful happy hour spot to enjoy a few drinks for a good price on ues! Incredible fajitas to say the least
We came here for drinks and salsa on a hot day and we're not disappointed. Friendly service, great guac and chips and salsa, and really nice prices on drinks. They have a generous happy hour and I think some of the previous reviews were overly harsh. Please come on and try them! Especially if you guys are walking around in the heat.
DO NOT EAT HERE! POTENTIAL HEALTH HAZARD! I reserve 1 star ratings for multiple big issues. I've been to this restaurant twice. The first time the food was mediocre. OKAY, that's a 2-3 stars. The 2nd time, the waiter entered in the wrong burrito which tasted mediocre, service was really slow, and I watched water from an AC unit? drip off the scaffolding above the restaurant onto the clean plates and utensils on the table below it. I informed the waiter and he positioned the roof to cover the table. For the remaining 20 minutes I was there, the table was not cleared and replaced with clean plates/napkins/utensils.
I liked their happy hour! They also bring you salsa with your order or food or drink - which was really amazing and you can always ask for more salsa. Their salsa is handmade and they also bring platanos along with original tortilla chips. The vibe was chill too!
Outstanding frozen margaritas, especially the mango. Great bartenders, Rodrigo, Miranda, and Eddie and very friendly staff. Love the fajitas and mexican corn. The pork chops with jerk chicken sauce is amazing. Frequent the place 2-3 times a month. Live music occasionally on wednesdays.
Pretty good food but small portions. Not a huge menu. They have “garden seating” in the back. I saw one tree and a bunch of cement walls so it was not so much a garden as a patio. Not a lot of air movement back there so eating in the garden when it’s really humid and hot would not be my first choice in the future.
An excellent local culinary experience that doesn't break the bank offering some great house made fresh flavours. My wife and I dined here on our visit to the area and it was probably the best food we've had in this neighbourhood, including some meals that easily cost twice as much. We started with the calamari which was very tender and didn't taste frozen like is sometimes a risk at this price point. The chipotle aioli and seafood sauce tasted house made and were nice additions to the dish. After that we followed with the carnitas tacos and new york strip steak. The tacos were lovely and fresh while staying simple and light. Probably the best tacos we've ordered anywhere. The steak was cooked to order perfectly resting on a bed of chipotle mashed potatoes and covered in wild mushrooms. Easily the best steak I've had at this price point and the slight heat in the potatoes was a nice twist. Overall we were very happy with our meal and the prices were very reasonable. Staff was polite and attentive and the restaurant was very clean. We would definitely visit again! Thanks!
My fiancé and I live in the neighborhood and tried this place for the first time tonight. It was at best average. The gazpacho was pureed tomato with Bloody Mary mix in it, the enchilada sauce on my enchiladas was from a store and my mojito... well it wasn’t. The food wasn’t terrible but this is NYC where food is expected to be great. Will not return.
Great outdoor seating streetside. Service is always solid. Theres a lovely garden with fountain at the rear I find unique and charming. Food is always well prepared, good sized portions. Lively but still relaxed for dining in the evenings.
