I love this Asian Food market. Best one in St.Paul in my opinion. They cater more so to making Chinese food which is a big plus for me. The vegetables are always fresh. The establishment is much cleaner and better organized than other stores. The owners and staff are always super kind and helpful. Parking is always accessible and the fact that it is kind of hidden away means it is never crowded so it makes the shopping experience better in my opinion. The only fault is that they never restocked the black sesame brittle that I really liked and actually bought out.
Great variety of products. Friendly staff. Arrangement of store was messy, lots of clutter and lots of trip hazards. Perishable items looked old and shelves and freezers looked unmaintained. I bought a cleaning brush and realized it was moldly when I got home.
Worst Asian market we have ever shopped! If you want to be scammed and get ripped off, this is the place to shop. My parents shopped there once and they will never return! At the check-out counter, my parents spotted an overpriced item. They requested a return right away at the counter, but the shop assistant refused the return and used "Covid" as an excuse. It is ridiculous because the item is not opened or used and hasn't left the store. We later weighed the item at home and found the item weighted less than the weight printed on the receipt....
Several different brands for many different products. For example, soy sauce, Kikkoman is for Japanese cuisine, there are Chinese brands that go better in other East Asian cooking. Also, they have different varieties. Black soy sauce or low sodium. They offer different sizes for products too. 10 ounces is a common size for soy sauce. You can get a 5 ounce bottle. And there are larger sizes. 20 ounces would be small for hoisin sauce.
Decent stock for the size of the store, but the produce wasnt fresh at all. They had newspaper down in the bottom of the coolers, preventing the cold air from reaching the veggies, and keeping them fresh.
It may be tiny but it had everything I needed! A good variety of produce and the dumplings that were recommended to me. The man at the checkout was nice and fast. I'll definitely stop by again next time I'm in the area!
My go-to Asian market. Good selection, clean, organized, and the woman behind the counter is polite and helpful. Easy parking there's a parking lot and great prices. COLLEGE STUDENTS: Start shopping at Asian markets. Learn to cook Asian food. It's cheap, easy, healthy, and delicious.
A fantastic variety of traditional Asian ingredients. Vegetables looked super fresh, prices are very reasonable. There is a $20 minimum for credit card purchases, so bring cash for small trips!
Love this store! Has tons of the food things I got to taste in Taiwan, and which I was craving before finding the Shanghai Market. My favorites: peanut rice milk better than any chocolate milk, peanut soup and congees, the 1000 layer cookies, Thai milk teas, hot pot mixtures and the stuff to put in, like those cute cutouts with the pink flowers, but also tons of great tofu ingredients, really good soy sauce and oyster sauce, and pork floss or meat floss, and pot sticker dumplings, and I,m getting hungry as I'm writing....
First time I've been really happy about sudden road work in the Twin Cities. Pulled in here to turn around and discovered an amazing little market. $1.99 for Sriracha garlic chili sauce and tons of legit Asian market fare. Check out out.
