Shoalnook Cabins

At first I was a little hesitant to go here because it looks like it's right in town, but it really is tucked away and surrounded by trees. The cabins are nice, there's loads of open space, and your right by the river. Looking forward to coming back!

Great, quiet get-away. We reviewed the cabins under the old name (Pop's Retreat) but stayed here in May 2016. Free wifi and kitchen make it a great spot for family reunions or gatherings. Cabins sleep 6 but the kids will probably be more adept at climbing the steps/ladder upstairs. Two night discount. Definitely recommend.

Quiet secluded campsites, nice cabins. Really close to the river too!

This was an amazing experience! I highly recommend to anyone that wants to take a break and relax. I was hesitant at first because there weren't many reviews, but I will definitely be visiting again soon. We drove almost 7 hours to stay here for the 4th of July and I was beyond impressed. The cabins are adorable and fully loaded. We have stayed in condos in Florida and even lodges in the dells and the owners here have thought of everything. Usually when you go to a place they have a few cooking utensils and maybe an oven, but these cabins were loaded. I love to cook and I had everything I needed! They were secluded yet you could drive 20 mins and be at table rock lake! It is absolutely perfect. The owners go out of their way to make sure your experience will be great. Also my little sister forgot her ipad and we received a call shortly after that they found it. Then my boy friend forgot his knife and they are mailing it to me! Talk about customer service. I have 3 jobs and don't take a lot of time to write reviews usually but this place deserves it. As my little sister said "Best vacation ever". The river wasn't floatable when we went due to flooding but we definitely plan to go again when its down because you have great access to it! This is a great little hidden treasure and I highly recommend to anyone looking for a vacation!
