Construction happening sorry if takes away from an otherwise pretty beach. Not crowded when I've been visiting during the week. Places to put down chairs and blankets. Saw people swimming. You can nearly walk out to a little island when time is right. TONS of pretty shells. Not a ton of garbage. Neat birds.

Pros: Its a beach. If you live in the area then it's great. Definitely some nice views and it's not usually crowded so often very peaceful. Nice little island you can walk across to via a sandbar when the tide is low. Sunrise / evening sky offers some beautiful pics.
Cons: under a LOT of construction. The roads and parking area are currently being ripped apart. Also a lot of swampy overgrowth and stagnant mosquito breeding pools when you first walk through. Tons of broken shells concentrated in certain areas so walking barefoot might taste like ouch.
Overall it's a pleasant place but not a place I would bring my daughter to or organize a family / friend beach day at.

One of a few secret gems on the shoreline of Connecticut. Not a large waterfront beach for swimming; but, the remain rocky waterfront still offers great views.
There is a wonderful boardwalk, with groups of benches situated for rest and viewing.
Excellent location for outdoor walking; about 1.4 Miles end to end.

Beach is nice during the summer however there is ALOT of construction taking place. Main parking area is still open. Smaller lot is being worked on, cloaked. Roads are detoured and the park is a mess. If you can make it to the beach, it’s beautiful. If you catch the tide right you can walk to the sandbar located on a separate island across from the beach 🏖

Very beautiful beach! There were tons of interesting shells washed ashore to look at while we were there. I wished I could have spent more time there.
