We came into the store while on vacation from Indiana and had the best experience. So much cool stuff that Tom was thrilled to tell us about. He wasn’t even “selling” us, he was just genuinely excited about the things in his shop. He was so friendly and helpful. I purchased a nice wallet and then 4 months later something happened to it that required a warranty exchange and he was happy to pull a copy of the receipt for me. I will definitely be back in next time I am in the area.

I've been visiting and shopping at "Simply Scandinavian" for over twenty years. I believe I now own over five DALE Skiing Sweaters from Tom Grant who is a "salt of the earth" kinda guy. Impressive merchandise from all over Scandinavia. It makes you happy just walking into the store! If you are visiting Portland, Maine do not miss a visit to this store. And, their on-line service is impeccable.

This store is so beautiful and nicely arranged! I enjoy shopping here just because it's so clean and relaxing! The array of products is really interesting and they have great gifts.

This store was one of the shopping highlights of our visit to Portland. The merchandise is very high quality and we were able to pick up several bargains at nice prices. The owner provided answers to a lot of questions and offered to ship items to our home. When we returned, a very well packed box had already arrived with considerably more shipping costs than we paid. There was glass, paper, and fabric enclosed and all were separated so everything was in excellent condition upon receipt. Service like this is very rare these days and I hope stores like this one will be recognized for the gift they are. Thank you. Added 5/5/20 Just ordered some wonderful lingonberry items. Wonderful!! This place is amazing. The merchandise is all great and beautiful genuine Scandinavian products, and the owner is incredibly friendly and helpful. When they didn't have my size/color in the boots that I wanted, he had them shipped to my house, no extra charge. I will definitely be a return customer next time I'm in Portland.

I recently got the results of my DNA test and found that I'm actually a percentage Swedish. My wife is a much larger percentage Norwegian. When we saw this store on a recent trip to Portland Maine, we had to stop in and support them! Such an amazing selection of Scandinavian books, housewares, clothing, Moomin merch, food, and so much more! As if that wasn't enough, one of the owners Tom was behind the register. He was extremely kind and conversational. Whether you have Scandinavian blood or not, stop in, say hello, and I'm sure you'll find something you can't help but take home with you.

The folks at Simply Scandinavian provide the some of the best customer service that I've experienced while shopping. Period. I love the merchandise in their store and with this level of customer service it's an all 'round great experience! Thank you.

Like a visit home to the best design shops of Scandinavia. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, and well-curated selection of imported Nordic products, from clothing to tableware to seasonal decorations Scandinavian Christmas, anyone?. Anyone who loves good design will love this shop, and you can pick up some cheese and herring and chocolate while you are there!

My wife and I stopped in to browse and ended up buying a gorgeous Helly Hansen winter jacket! The owner was so helpful! We will definitely be coming back when we are in Portland, Maine to visit him and his lovely shop Julie e & Joe xoxo
