Sleeping Giant is closed due to the storms that came through last week. I went by the park yesterday. There is no news footage or drone fly overs that can really show the destruction in that area. Not just to the park but the streets and homes. No words can express what happened there. And, this is not the only park to be hit. Please everyone be safe and stay out f the parks.

So blessed to have this state park in my backyard. To grow up in the hills of Sleeping Giant. Amazing park. Go during the week especially 11-3pm to avoid crowds, families, etc. Blue and White are for seasoned hikers. Have fun! Bring food and water.

Good adventure. Blue trail was good challenge going up. Wouldn't go down it.. esp. when it's wet. Lots of city people which is nice to see but also some piles of trash left here and there. Not sure why people leave their garbage at the top if Clearly it isn't being picked up. Great views.

There's a super difficult scramble in the very beginning, but then it levels out and is not that hard, just a bunch of ups and downs. We had planned to take the blue trail there and then the violet trail back, but the violet trail turned out to be just a simple walk, so we quickly switched back to the blue. Very fun overall, and a nice challenge! It took us 3.5 hours round-trip, with about 30 min of lunch.

Amazing! If you're an outdoorsy type person and love to hike, then this is the place for you! You can take a 3 mile hike up to the wonderful tower or enjoy a nice, slow, and steady walk just enjoying nature! Very convenient because it's only 11 minutes from Yale University! Amazing view at the tower and very quiet and peaceful! Also, the trail is a nice wide gravel path so you can run on it if you prefer. I would not suggest bringing small children here because there are no side rails to hold on to as you're walking up to the tower. Great for pets and older kids and teens! Would absolutely 100% recommend!
