I have colored my hair a few times in the past few years. Last year I colored my whole head a dark purple and bought some color safe shampoo and conditioner from Walmart. That hair lasted for a few months at least and barely faded. It more so just grew out. A couple weeks ago I came into this salon to put purple highlights in my hair. I sat there for four hours while my stylist chatted with everyone else and even walked away and left me there by myself. The other stylist even had to tell her when my hair was ready to be rinsed because she was so distracted with everything else going on. (At this point I was the only customer in the salon.) After my hair was done both stylists told me if I used any shampoo or conditioner that I found outside a salon, my hair wouldn't last as long. So, thinking that my hair would last longer than before, I bought their shampoo and conditioner. And now, two weeks later, my hair has drastically faded more so than my purple hair ever did with store bought shampoo and conditioner. For four hours and $100 for the color and $20 for the shampoo and conditioner, obviously I'm upset. I wouldn't recommend going here at all.

Please READ BEFORE U GO 2 THIS SALON...I do not recommend this salon to anyone. I second the other review were the colored bangs woman was just plain rude. I forgot whi done my hair but i told the girl what i wanted and she said i would have to pay a length fee i said for new growth then she said nevermind. She proceeded to put highlights in 1 inch from my scalp. So I already had new growth wen I walked out the door. Secondly, she tells me I have to sit and wait while she waits on a new customer. I said something to the Mgr and she made her finish my hair before cutting that woman's. Lastly she didn't blow dry my hair or style it just sent me out with a wet head. That is how the majority of smart style hairdressers are if you want your hair dryed its 5-10$ extra and extra $ for a flat iron. She is beyond skimpy, using very little product. I had to brush my own hair because she was pulling out gobs of my hair because she put hardly any conditioner or detangler when i have thick waist length hair . I will not go back to smart style, the company itself is crazy with all of its rules and fees and not paying the stylist if they work past the clock which leaves tons of irate customers as you can see from the reviews.. these stylists are dying to make an extra $ so the majority will charge you for whatever they can using the least amount of stuff and working less time then whats needed. The stylist only makes 40% of what they earn. That is a very low amount from what i have seen because its hard to gain regulars with the bs they pull

I went in today to get a long graduated bob. This is how my hair should have looked. The shortest piece in the back SHOULD have been more than 2-3 inches past my hairline, and the front pieces were supposed to be to my collar bones. Well, I sat there waiting to get in for over an hour only to be rushed in by an older lady with multicolored bangs. I showed her the picture I had and she barely even glanced at it. She clawed and scratched my head in the shampoo bowl, yanked my hair while brushing it, and kept a very clipped mean attitude the entire time. The back of my hair is cut starting at my hairline, only to get shorter as it goes up, the sides are also dramatically shorter than what I asked for. On top of it all, ITS NOT EVEN!! She then proceeded to rush me out the door with sopping wet hair. Please please PLEASE DO NOT COME TO THIS PLACE! They do not deserve your time or money!

This was my first time visiting this "salon." I called around 7 and asked what time they took their last appointment, the lady that answered said I didn't need an appointment and that as long as I was in the door by 8, they could get me in. All I needed was to have my hair shampooed, conditioned and blow dried. I arrived at 7:38 and was greeted with a scowl and a very rude "can I help you?" by a "stylist" named Cindy. I explained that I had called and told her what I wanted. She turns to her coworker that I spoke with on the phone and said "I'll wash it but I'm not drying it, we're closed. You said she didn't want it dried." In an incredibly condescending tone. It is currently 36 degrees outside and the end of December. What sane person would leave a "salon" with soaking wet hair?!
After I insisted that I was very clear and even asked for pricing for what I wanted done on the phone, Cindy agreed to wash and dry it. I have colored hair that needs to be washed with sulfate free shampoo and very cold water. Any cosmetologist should know this, but apparently she didn't. They used a shampoo that I later realized had sulfate in it. I asked her 4 separate times to please use only cold water, yet she continued to turn the hot water on. Once we were ready to move chairs to have it dried, she handed me 2 very small hand towels and told me to hold it and walk to where she stood. It was dripping wet and after leaving I realized it dripped and stained the brand new victorias secret sweater I had on. (I asked if I should take it off before she ever touched my hair. She said no.)
She brushed it and ripped out an abnormally large amount of hair when doing so, it was not pleasant at all. I requested detangler, she said "I already sprayed the olive oil" ??? I did notice her spray something on it, maybe 4 squirts, but my hair is to my waist and is quite thick. That's not enough. Once the tangles were out, she began to dry it using the highest heat setting on the dryer WITHOUT USING ANY SORT OF HEAT PROTECTING PRODUCT! I stopped her and requested something for protection and a smoothing/anti frizz product before she continued. There were multiple bottles of both sitting right beside us. She repeated that she "used the olive oil" and resumed drying. Throughout the blow dry, Cindy mentioned how long and thick my hair was and how it usually doesn't take as long to do a blow-dry 3 separate times. Very rude.
Once finished, my hair was a total frizz ball AND IT WAS PARTED IN THE MIDDLE!!!! I was so distracted by the lack of professionalism, I didn't even notice until she was done. She never once asked. I walked in with a side part. Why would I want a middle part walking out? Of course, Cindy was long gone by the time I stood up out of the chair. I expressed my concerns and disappointments to the other employee and she responded with a shrug and a very insincere "sorry."
Cindy came out as I was leaving (4 minutes before they closed) and told me that next time I should bring my own shampoo and conditioner and any other product I want! I was at a loss for words at that point and just had to leave. I've never heard of a salon doing anything remotely like that. Wouldn't you think they'd want their customers to try different products in hopes of them purchasing the product after the service is finished???
I am in total shock. I've been to other smart style salons and I've never experienced this type of hostility and lack of professionalism. Needless to say, I strongly advise against this place. I can't imagine what they'd do if you were to get a cut or color, I feel for anyone that let's them lighten their hair. Cindy didn't even know what olaplex was!
I hope management reads this and works toward bettering their customer service and hiring more qualified employees. This was absolutely shameful for your company.
